I for one also feel they should be rebuilt. However I think special precautions should be taken. Such as a stronger infylstructure also easier and fast ways to get from top to bottom. I would also restrict flying over New York by ANYONE besides military and commercial air lines. And any commercial air line that is schedualed to fly near New York has to have 4 under cover military police flying on that plain, in plain clothes.
I would work there in a heart beat and visit it and go to the top once a month!
Look at this News Video when they brought in a New Safer model of the Twin Towers! A 30 second commercial will run first. New Twin Towers Video![/center]

I think it will be cool to have them up exactly like they were before. but not to have anyone in them execpt to the 55th floor. and the rest nothing but an empty shell.with all of the twin towers victims memorial..

I would have to say no. Don't get me wrong it would be cool to see them rebullt but I just feel like they could take all the necessary precautions in the world and the exact same thing would just happen over again. It was because of negligence that it happened in the first place.

i think they should rebuild but use a different design. its the whole point of moving forward. but it dont matter how they look old way or new way its allways gonna be a target for the fact of what it was. the center of trade and stuff.

I agree with always being a target but disagree on changing a design means moving ahead. I think moving ahead IS putting the Twin Towers back. I think regression would be displayed by letting them tell us what the f*ck we can or can't have. They can kiss my ass, I'd put them right back up the exact way there were (on the outside). Sometimes you can move ahead by not bugging an inch. Besides putting them back would TRUELY be a sight for sore eyes! The blank space that's there now is an eye sore.

yeah i see where your coming from and it affected everyone, some more than other and some different than others but its good to talk about it. either way we have to show them who is the strongest through all this.

Yea, I see where you're coming from too. But I just can't imagine ANYTHING there besides the Towers. I've seen them so many times and they were something I thought would be there for hundreds of years, just like every other building in New York. I can't let them dictate what we have here or how tall we make our buildings. Just can't...

Rebuilding the Towers is the right thing to do in my opinion..
It shows spirit and determination..
I watched a film the other day that had the Towers in and i was saying to my GF that it just dosent seem right that they arnt there.

Well many believe Bush was aware of these events and could of prevented them. Its all about the oil, but thats beside the point. As for actually rebuilding them, i don't know. Maybe build a memorial in the absence of the towers.

I heard a while back that they were planning on a memorial park in the place of the Towers was this idea scrapped? If they do go ahead with rebuilding the towers they should have a memorial area in front of em...

I know this is an old topic but I was just wondering if anyone had heard any news about what was happening? In response to what inf3ct said. The Government isn't paying for it. According to the article Tommy provided the guy that owns the space that the Twin Towers were on has 4 Billion in insurance money to build with. I would have preferred they rebuilt the towers. The design that was chosen in 2003 is fugly.
