Same here but I haven't seen 2,3 and 4. I just can't find them. Well continue to try to find 2 and 3. Give up on 4. Believe me you'll thank me later. That movie sucked. I wish I had the 2 hours of my life back I wasted on that movie. Later, Kyle

Well this was a tough one. I liked both the first one and the remake the best. But I ended up voting for the First one. Both were great movies.

Yeah I look at them as equal. But have to give the nod to the original as well due to it coming first.

Of the ones I have seen, the original is my choice.
I haven't seen 3 or 4 yet, but it is basically impossible to top the original.

3 isn't too bad. Ken Foree is in it and that maes it better than 4 by leaps and bounds.

The only one I've seen is the newest one, so I can't be much help, I would watch them but they're never on tv, I never really got that into them

You should rent at least the first 2. I think you'd like them a great deal. Especially the original.

Kyle's right. The original TCM is one of the all-time horror greats, for sure.

I enjoy some of the other TCM films, but none even come close to the original. It's in a class by itself.

True-but we can also say the same thing about the remake.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 I voted for, TCM 3 comes in second as much as I like TCM 2 the third just had a much more serious tone that I liked about it. I'am not even going to mention anything about The Next Generation but I thought the 2003 remake was alright.

If I had to rent them from best to worst now I'd say....
Original Part 2 Remake Beginning Part 3 TNG
I used to have Part 2 after both the remake and it's prequel. But through the years I've found I love Part 2 more with each viewing. I used to hate how different in tone it was from the original. But I understand why Hooper went a different direction. He figured that it didn't make sense artistically to copy what he'd done in the original. He knew he couldn't top it. So he thought it made more sense to take it another direction. I mean the 80's were pretty wild. It makes sense that instead of hippies the family would target yuppies. It took the subtle dark humor in the original and turned it up to 11. I think it's great that more people are gaining an appreciation for it.
