I am sure KNB could simulate it pretty well.
The CGI would not fit in though.

It's good they are remaking it. Now maybe they'll make a version I'll find worthy of watching. Like others have said they wouldn't be able to have the real animal deaths. So that's a BIG plus in my book. On the newest and best release of Cannibal Holocaust on DVD by Grindhouse there is an option on the menu to watch the film with or without the animal scenes intact.

That's great to hear. But I doubt my local Hollywood Video would have that version. They don't tend to have multiple versions of movies unless they are big renters like Star Wars. I'm not even sure they'd have the regular version. I've never bothered looking for it because of the animal deaths.

The animal-free version is not edited very well.

The animal-free version is not edited very well. What do you mean by that? Is it badly edited in that you still see some of the animal deaths? Or do you mean the editing out of those scenes is kind of abrupt? If it's the former I wouldn't bother watching it. If it's the latter I'd be fine with that because the scenes are gone that bother me.

It looks like TBS edited it for content, but it does remove all animal parts.

The release by Grindhouse on DVD is the only Legit R1 DVD in the U.S. So if your video store carries it, then that is the one they would have because there are no other domestic versions available in the U.S.

It is also one of only four uncut versions of the film available around the world on DVD.

Indeed.

And that's the version where you can choose to skip the animal deaths? I'll have to look for it the next time I go to Hollywood Video if that's the case.

The people on this film got taken to court over the human killings, they had to prove it didn't really happen.
Also, I doubt the remake is going to be as effective, it will rely on shock value more than it will substance. If anything, it will be the Blair Witch with a better video camera.
I assume the majority of their money is going to come from something like, "The original is banned in so many countries, the original did this, the original did that..." and not even focus on the remake, using the original's status to sell tickets.

Yea the extras are fucking killer Xn.
And Kwik Kash your are absolutely right. A remake is an insult and can only result in failure because of how notorious the original is. Of course not that many people have seen the original so most might not even know its a remake. Bad idea all around though.

Kwik Kash is indeed correct.
I was watching the extras, and Robert Kerman really let himself go.

So many people don't know Black Christmas was remade, or that The Hitcher was remade. It's amazing, saddening also...
I've seen Cannibal Holocaust once, but that's all it takes to place those images in your mind. It's a film that should be one everyone's To See List, it definitely shook the filming industry and is a product of some unique material you'll most likely never find, or see again.

Yeah, the cannibal movie craze can't be recreated.
Cannibal Ferox was basically a cash-in of this movie, while Jungle Holocaust and Man From Deep River preceded it.
When I first watched it, I was in shock as to how brutal it was. After another viewing, it wasn't as shocking, but I could see what the film was trying to get across.
