I dont understand the hate either. The one chick is SO hot and the movie just looks like plain fun. Not to be taken seriously. Horror movies are supposed to be fun. NOES the remake tried to be serious and LOOK and how FLAT that fell... These people know that there is no longer a true fear of the big 4 characters.... so they went with something different. A fun Friday night with your chick at the movies. I dont think this should be judged to harshly.
Besides if anyone can take that absolute piece of shit TCM2 seriously and give it dignity, then surely anything better than TCM4 can be enjoyed as well. I don't take TCM 2 seriously, but I still really enjoy watching it. Chop Top is one of the most quotable characters ever. Good looking girls aren't enough for me to pay to see this movie. I can see that for free on the computer. I am no fan of the remake, but it looked way better than this.

I always thought TCM : The Beginning should have been the remake.

Like I said I enjoyed the trailer. We all know it wont be the only trailer before the film is released. Maybe the other trailer/s will be more to the liking of those who disliked the first one. The amount of quality people that have previously been involved having something to do with this one gives me hope. I mean Gunnar Hansen actually had a small part. He hasn't been willing to do any of the others even though he's been offered parts before. All I know is I'm happy to see another TCM coming out. I love the franchise. So another entry is something I'm really looking forward to.

Haha TommyBlade! ;D I don't take TCM 2 seriously, but I still really enjoy watching it. Chop Top is one of the most quotable characters ever. Good looking girls aren't enough for me to pay to see this movie. I can see that for free on the computer. I shouldnt have used the word "serious". What I meant was, if you consider TCM2 to be a legit entry.... then (no offense) your standards are not as high as you may think they are. That's really not a diss to anyone who likes it. I have low standards as well, I like Ghoulies 2. Just be aware that your standards are low though... and realize that there are no signs of this movie being on any lower level than TCM2.
As for hot girls pulling this movie through... I never said that. I was just commenting on one girl before I got into why this shouldnt be taken very seriously as it really just looks like a fun movie.

I love TCM 2, but this didn't come off as TCM 2, it's more like Leatherface TCM 3, which means that I am currently mixed on it. It could go either way really, but to compare it to Next Generation is a bit extreme. NG was.....weird. Here, this seems straight forward, Leatherface and Drayton killing teens. 4, Leatherface was a yelping, weak tranny. Here he clearly isn't that which is a plus.

* I take that back. I decided to watch the trailer repeatably for about 4-5x, just trying to piece everything together. After multiple viewing I realized I was wrong to jump that fast on it by only looking at it once. My mind was hoping to see something different that I was expecting that was not there. Unfortunately I got something fresh but keeping the realism & settings intact from previous generation. My apology for jumping the gun & also not realizing that trailers can be deceiving sometimes.....that Is something I learned many times throughout. It looks pretty good, can't wait to see the next premiere yet alone the film.
*I was also kidding about...... "Man I thought I was the only one, you and them hot chicks Demon. Its the first line for everything. Thats pretty much the movie for me right there, I'm not afraid to say thats all I usually look forward too anyways. See which hot chick is next in line to get slashed up."
I do look forward to fresh victims/ chicks lol, but that is not the point of a horror film. You guys know me better than that.

Well, there are some horror films that are glorified softcore porn or worse. Ever heard of Porno Holocaust or Erotic Nights Of The Living Dead?

I have those two Jeremy. Technically It is considered Horror material & is ranked into the Horror Category but it is mostly found as exploitation. I would have to agree with you Leatherface, I do not find these horror related but exploitation. That is why I have them in the storage.

nothing wrong exploitation mind you, but it's not what you call Horror in the same sense as you'd call TCM. Though, the first 1 could technically fall under exploitation in terms as to how it was shot.

They certainly exploited the actors when making the original. Look at the stinky clothes that Gunnar Hansen had to wear for the shoot and Marilyn Burns got all scratched up filming the end scene.

Well yeah, that's what an exploitation film does. They are shot quick, cheap, and often rough.

It is interesting to note how many classic and/or important films were made for very little money.

I think that's why some of them ended up so good. The people making the films had to be more creative. They were basically trying to capture lightning in a bottle and the limitations probably helped them do it.
