Ultimate screwed everything up, they gave Dr. Doom HORSE FEET!
In most comics, Eddie is larger than Parker. I tend to think that is what they need to do, but the movies Marvel makes are slanted to be based off the Ultimate versions of the comics, which may explain this version of Venom.
I think the larger Venom looks cooler, it's the one everyone thinks of when they hear the word. To be honest, I feel that they could use someone's movements for Venom, then CGI him large, then CGI the costume. However, you'd get the film purist claiming it wouldn't be right or it'd look somewhat fake.

They'd be kind of stupid for saying that. Quite a bit of Spider-Man scenes in the movies especially the second one are nothing but CGI. But you are right. Marvel movies definitely take their stories more from the Ultimate line than anywhere.

The Spider-Man films have taken for TAS comics.
TAS= The Amazing Spider-Man
But yes. Venom does look bigger than Spidey in some pics.

I was talking about changes they made to characters. Like Spiderman being bitten by a genetically modified spider instead of a radiated one is from Ultimate. And the rumor is that Galactus will be more like his Ultimate version than what happens in the regular Marvel Universe. And like Kwik said Venom is the same size as Peter in the Ultimate Universe. It seems with each movie Marvel makes they are taking less from the classic Marvel Universe and more from the Ultimate one.

Spider-Man the Movie came out before Ultimate Spider-Man. Like in 1 month they released it. So Ultimate took from the movies.

Spider-Man the Movie came out before Ultimate Spider-Man. Like in 1 month they released it. So Ultimate took from the movies. Ultimate had been designed for a while, they do this all the time in Hollywood, they'll release a movie to coincide with a television/animated series to boost sales, they did it with Batman: The Animated Series when Batman Forever came out in movie theaters, they added Robin to the show. Most likely, the film was just to "awaken" people to what Ultimate would be all about. And IFdude, most likely the motive behind them picking Ultimate is because it's newer, it needs the publicity, and it's fairly new so there's not as much to 'keep up with' for those behind the films.

The weird thing about it is that GG is from the amazing Spider-Man. The Ultimate one is a monster not human. So is Sandman.

The weird thing about it is that GG is from the amazing Spider-Man. The Ultimate one is a monster not human. So is Sandman. I think they're doing a bit of both, the "monster" Green Goblin would be difficult for the mainstream to swallow. Doctor Octopus in the movies was different than how he was in the comics, I assume they're adding bits and pieces of different comics here and there.

I didn't mean to imply that Spider-Man or the other Marvel movies are taking everything from the Ultimate Universe. They obviously take from the regular one too. I just noticed as time goes on the trend is they are taking less from the mainstream and more from the Ultimate.

I still think he's too small for Venom. But I am happy they've increased his size since the teaser trailer. Maybe by the time it comes out they'll have it right.

I know why they did not want him that big. It would look fake, they want it to look as real as possible. The venom costume is better in the movie.
Oh and where can I get ONLINE tickets to see the midnight showing. Moviephone does not have it yet.

I think there is no Spider-Man 4. The crew only signed on for 3 movies. With out them, you can't make a new Spidey movie.

The studio has the rights to make six movies, but the majority of the cast only signed on for three.
Personally, I think they'll come back after a while. They've made too much money from the trilogy, and we all know money talks.
