I wouldn't mind colorized versions so long as you got the black and white versions along with the color ones. I don't want color versions to replace the b&ws, that's for damn sure.

Both options would make a neat movie experience.

Yep, I agree. I love both of my NOTLD versions, well I have 5 versions actually, but you get the point. Colorized is fine with me as well as B&W.

after seeing some classics I like black and white much better than i used to, oriinally thinking of the first few episodes of the Honeymoners whenever someone said "black and white television".
But I picked both because new colored horror films are cool as well.

If the movie was originally b&w, I think it should stay that way. I've seen some of the colorized versions of the older movies, and they just don't look right.

I just can't get behind having classics like Frankenstein or The Wolf Man in color. The B&W added an ambiance to them that really made them work. I think adding color would take away that classic creepy feel they had.

In my opinion, I want things to be presented the way they were when they originally came out, be it black and white, color, aspect ratio, language, whatever. I love black and white because it offers a different realm of horror...colorizing them takes away the charm and atmosphere. Night of the Living Dead is very different in color, for the worse, and something like Black Sunday just wouldn't seem right without the blacks, whites, and greys, even if Bava was a color mastermind with his other work.
I would like to mention The Mist though. That looks amazing in Black and White...I don't think I'll ever watch it in color again. Now, that is being a bit of hypocrite, but at least the intent was there beforehand.
I guess seeing a colorized version is worth seeing just for comparison sake, but it loses every time, when match up against the original.

The recent dvd release of night of the living dead from Dimension is the best so far! You got he one from yesterday? Not that I'm surprised. ;D
I almost bought it but just bought Diary and was gonna wait and see on this one. Yes, I actuallypurchased a DVD and did not burn. A few movies these days I still buy as I am a collector of this series. It's only about one dvd a month I buy though, but burn like 40. I still have over 400 store bought DVDs. they have got enough of my money I think.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I already have 5 versions of this movie including the Milennium Edition which most feel is the be all, end all of NOTLD DVDs.
I am curious on the transfer of the new one and if anything else is different.

The new Transfer for night is the best i've seen so far Chainsaw. I really enjoyed the special features too. I don't own the millenium edition.
But George Romero was directly behind this new release, even has his signature on the box.
Thats the one i support.

To buy or not to buy. That is the question.

This means I will have to get yet another edition of this movie. I should just get it when I get Diary. Is the transfer really better then the millenium editions?

I'm not sure if its better than the millenium Edition, but i know for a fact its better than the black & White version in the colorized release.
The cover art looks incredible and George's signature makes this my favorite release.Definitely a collector's item IMO.

I was planning on getting this anyway. NOTLD is one of those films that I have no problem purchasing multiple times. I'd buy this, even if a Blu-ray version was announced for this October.

I was going to go with Black & White, that would be my vote...then I thought about it and voted to have both. Why should I force upon others what I prefer?I simply don't have to watch it in color if they offer the option.
