Well…this movie was actually HORRIBLE! The director/writers should have been put in jail for life! I dint even bother to see the whole film because it was so boring. But it’s at least not as tragic as nr 3. That one was…well it was bad, and it should be renamed: Season of the bitch!

I think people are being abit harsh against this movie. The Halloween atmosphere is settled perfectly with a very Gothic tone in it. Danielle Harris does an amazing performance and Donald is even more crazier then ever, doing whatever he can to Stop Michael. The music score by Alan Howarth is more bizaree then ever(In a good way) They seem to humanize Michael more, wich is an interesting direction in the movie, It also has a great cliffhanger ending in the movie. Unfortunaly the film is more ruined by the annoying characters, Killing of Rachel, The Victorian Myers house and the lack of trying to use comedy elements for the film, Clow cops, etc. I actully like the mask for the film, BigNeckMyers overrules! I'll give it a 3/5. I'll take H5 over H2O and H:R anyday.

I watched this on AMC's Monsterfest, and came to the conclusion that the movie did one thing to Michael Myers that made him seem as if he couldn't stalk anymore: he drove, and like a demolition derby expert, too.
I mean, when he drove in the first Halloween it was tolerable, but in this one he was driving like the Dukes of Hazzard, and when he tried running over everyone as opposed to sneaking up behind them and slitting their throats, that made me cringe.

This film is Horror Hollow's Horror Movie of the Month, not because it is the greatest of the Halloween films but because the discussion on it is so heated! There are people who detest the film, people who love it, and people who love the concept it was trying to accomplish.
Personally, I thought it was saved by Danielle Harris as Jamie. No one can deny her performance was off the chart for a child actor in that time. Donald Pleasance also delivers as usual.

I gave this one a 2 out of 5 as well for the same reasons as part 4 -- hell, they are nearly identical movies..

My copy is good, I bought the one that came in the tin box. I think that this movie had a lot of potential with Michael and Jamie. That scene in the house when you see a flash of humanity from Michael was good. It was if he himself was waking up from his own nightmare. I think that a lot of the other characters could have been left out. Rachel should have not been killed off. She could have had a bigger role to play with both Michael and Jamie. They should have focused on that as well as having Dr. Loomis finally solving Michael's jigsaw puzzle personality.

Laurie Strode isn't brought up in this one at all...not even her name. That made me sad, I'm glad michael got a new mask (much better than part 4's) and he also got to experiment with new weapons
