I'd say watch 5 and 6 to learn about it. But you couldn't get that 4 hours back. ;D

I like the idea up till part 6 where they go a little far with the whole controling Michael idea, I think part 6 is what really killed the idea for me

Skip part 5and go to part 6, it may not be a good idea for the storyline, but then again, they always have to explain WHY the killer is a killer these days.
Part 6 isn't a bad watch though IMO, good gore and brutality, and Loomis carries it of course, but there isn't much comedy and overkill of the Jamie character like in part 5.

I really hate when movies ignore sequels.

Usually I do too. But when they are getting rid of crap I'm perfectly fine with it. If for instance a Friday the 13th came along that picked up after Part 8 and completely ignored the New Line films I'd be quite pleased.

I'm fine with the studios ignoring H5 and H6 but ignoring H4 was terrible..i really like that movie.

There was really no way to avoid that. 4 and 5 were too connected. I agree Part 4 being taken out of continuity is a shame. But getting rid of 5 and 6 makes it bearable to me. What's a real shame is never seeing a movie in that line of movies again. Now Zombieween is going to be where they pick up from.

This whole damn Zombieween thing really pisses me off,if you google the word Halloween Rob Zombies movie is first now.
You have to actually type in John Carpenter's Halloween if you want to find info on the 1978 film.
That really pisses me off.
You're right about H4 and H5....*sighs* its all a shame what they did to the Halloween franchise.
Like i said a while back,if they ever do another Halloween that follows the Zombieween movie,im out as a fan.
Well at least i'll be an old school Halloween fan (John Carpenter's Halloween,H2,H3,H4)

They are planning a sequel to Zombieween. I wish I remembered what news site I read that on. But I'd say about a month ago there was a news story about it. I didn't report on it because I have no plans to see it. Unless by some miracle whoever does the sequel can fix all the things wrong with the first film.

I was actually considering getting that thorn tattoo on my wrist like Michael has just to have it an official part of me/connection that will be there even at my funeral. I decided against it though because in reality it's just a bullshit explanation for Michael.
Explanations... the things that destroyed what could have been in the top greatest horror icon had they never tried to explain him.

So they are making an official comic called Mark Of Thorn, BUT it is not a continuation of 4-6 and doesn't connect anything.
Basically, in another comic, the H20 version of Tommy Doyle did a comic within the comic about the 4-6 series as a coping mechanism and this is it.
So Thorn is basically dead, and mercifully so.
The people that make the comics are also hurting with this bad economy, so all of them are on hold.

Finally something good comes out of this bad economy, the death of Thorn.

It was a failed concept that was mercifully killed off.
In essence, liking Thorn means that you don't appreciate Carpenter's intentions for the original, with no explanation and no family chasing angle.

Why would they have done that?
There was no money in that line of thinking, so they went with a far more profitable decision and it worked out, at least temporarily.
The series had gone straight to video overseas by the time that H5 came out, and it almost did that domestically thanks to H6.
Michael being controlled by an evil magician was a possible idea for that DTV entry, which would have made the franchise as invisible as Hellraiser and its video store entries.
