There are so many Stephen King films it would be hard to put all of them in one poll. The best thing could maybe be a round robin. But dont forget to include "The Running Man" that is King but under his pen name. A Stephen King Round Robin would be interesting, but it would be tricky to do. Any ideas? BTW I voted for "The Shining"

My favorite is actually not horror at all, its Stand by Me, which is one of my favorite movies ever. As far as the poll goes, I vote for The Mist. Never been crazy about The Shining. Not because its not a good movie, because it is, I just didn't like it as it compared to the book (one of the few times when I can't seem to separate book and film).

This film is based on a short story written by Stephen King and I really liked it a lot! It stars Wes Bentley and Christian Slater and the title is called Dolan's Cadillac.
A dark revenge tale about Las Vegas middle school science teacher (Robinson) whose beloved wife (Elizabeth) witnesses an execution in the desert and is then targeted for death by the mobster who committed it, notorious Vegas crime lord Jimmy Dolan. Dolan's vast wealth stems from his human trafficking operations. Dolan succeeds in having Elizabeth killed before she can testify against him. Without a witness to the murders, Dolan goes free, and Robinson must avenge Elizabeth's death on his own.

Why isn't IT on this list?

Most of the movies are accurate to the books, however IT and Shinning were different from the books, Pennywise was a demon rather than a spider and Mr Torrance was a shizophrenic.

Why is IT not there? And its being remade The Shining for me NOT THE TV VERSION. Stanley Kubrick for the win! Love that movie! Honorable mentions include Rose Red, IT, Pet Cemetary and Storm of the Century. I HATE Sleepwalkers, THOSE DANCING CATS. NO. Tommyknockers and Langolers put me to sleep!

;D Amen to that, and The Stand was also boring as hell Give me a hell yeah to that! I forgot about that one. That movie could have been HEAVILY condensed instead its strawn out and also bores me to tears. Gah that's the problem with most of these book renditions, some could be condensed instead of giving every single finger licking detail!!

Pet Sematary. Amazingly close to the book which is rare for films based on his work.

The Shining, just because it was such a classic.

It's between Pet Semetary and IT. Each of these films have their own perks and things I like about them, but for different reasons. But if I have to pick just one, I'll let IT squeak by.
On this list, I'd say Children of the Corn.
My favorite book by Stephen King is The Long Walk, while my favorite short story is The Raft.

So many great films done by the legend, Carrie, Children of the Corn, Christine, Creepshow, The Mist, Cujo, Dreamcatcher, Graveyard Shift, Misery, Pet Sematary, The Shining. If I were to pick a favorite from the given tops it is definitely without a doubt Pet Sematary. One of the films I really enjoyed the most.

I remember a couple years ago they were talking about remaking Pet Sematary. Thankfully it appears nothing came of it. Because that's one of his films that definitely didn't need to be remade. In fact, since it was so close to the book a remake would just screw it up.

A tie for me between Children Of The Corn and Pet Sematary. Plus that Ramones song was amazing.
