I love sex, it's an amazing rush and everyone knows how much orgasms rock the Casbah. But if I just want to get off I've got a right hand and a great imagination. Sex, on the other hand, should always (IMO) be shared with someone you genuinely love and trust. Someone as willing to sit up with you and talk and try to make you laugh when sad or hurting as they are to break out the handcuffs and whipped cream. There's so much more to relationships than sex. There's that yummy chemical cocktail of love and lust. But there's also private jokes, shared memories, laugh-until-your-stomach-aches silliness, encouraging each others dreams and wrapping your love around someone like a warm blanket and armor against the pain of this world all at the same time. Oh, hell. That was SO sappy. Next time my low blood sugar acts up I'll skip the glucose tab and just re-read my post. Sex isn't the only thing but it's an important thing in a relationship. I'm with you on that, IFDude. Love is grand in plenty of ways, but if you're not compatible between the sheets... well, for me that's a deal-breaker.

I have learned that intimacy is not really necessary for a relationship to be good.
It is a plus, but one can live without it.
