Well I watched it again and I enjoyed it. Is it great, no. Is it a decent SLASHER, yes. That's really all I can hope for when I watch a slasher is that it's decent. There aren't many slashers out there anymore so I am glad to see one where the killer is brutal and there are lots of gruesome deaths. Of course there were stupid elements such as the whole white horse situation but many slashers have stupid things going on. I guess I like it for what it is though.

Well said Chainsaw.
After watching this with extremely low expectations, I've got to say it wasn't that bad. If you take it for what it was, the sequel to a remake, all you can really hope for is to be entertained. And I was entertained. I was also pleasantly suprised by some of the beautiful shots and cinematography in the film. Looked amazing on Blu Ray. All in all, waiting to see it for free on cable is the best bet unless you're a diehard Halloween fan.
2.9/5

It didn't do well in theaters, and DVD is proving to be even worse.
Only a few months into its home video release, it is in Blockbuster's 2/$20 section.

HA! Now I must admit there is only one very tiny redeeming quality with this shit fest. Rob Zombie is apparently disappointed by the reaction of this taht this is his FINAL! Halloween. THANK GOD! But mainly this movie has left me with a question that i'm not even sure Rob himself would be able to answer. Why was the hospital part ( the only watchable part i might add) a dream sequence? Why not just film the whole thing in the hospital? That wouldve been a bit cool to me and wouldve probably done better as a result but we may never know.

This makes me so excited yall have no idea! I loved that it failed both ways. What is the sales rate anyway? Where does it rank on the prior installments releases? I swear the Halloween franchise is the MOST FLAKED of them all with crappy movies.

Actually rebel not all Halloweens suck. Example, Season of the witch isn't a bad movie if you ignore the fact Myers isn't in it. 6 was okay IMO Resurrection was awful but H2 remains to be the worst of the Halloweens NOES has its share of terrible sequels same with Friday the 13th and TCM. I'd say F13 has the most abd sequels with NOES in a close second.

If they only used the hospital, it would have been a remake, which they don't own the full rights to. The site I go to only covered the first two weeks of release, but in that time, it sold a measly 300,000 copies and earned just over $5 million. RZH sold 1.2 million copies in its first week alone.

I don't mind that it failed, as I don't want them to be encourage to continued. However I don't think it's the worst in the series. It was defnately better than Reserrection and maybe even better than 5.
I think the Halloween series has some of the best sequels throughout including the RZ ones (they're good as sequels, not remakes/originals). 5 and 8 sucked, but most other series that have this many entries have far more worse sequels IMO.

A bunch of Weinstein/Dimension release dates were posted at BMO and H3D wasn't one of them, with Spy Kids 4 and Scream 4 set to come out.
If H3D gets made, it will be likely be a while until it comes out.

I think I found the site you speak of. And it excited me. I think this franchise has suffered enough. I'll respond to Leatherface as to why. Hmm I have to disagree even though I do LOVE Season of the Witch. The reason I said the Halloween franchise has suffered the most is because it has stretched beyond its paramitors compared to F13 or Nightmare. The Michael storyline was meant for a movie or two. That's what make them great. It was suppose to be a halloween story of the year is what the director, Carpenter and Hill specified so every sequel after III turned in to a cash in. It was turned from "The shape" to "Michael the slasher". I do not think the original Halloween was a slasher. There is zero gore. It's just creepy as a motha. It was just all over the place, what is the storyline? I can't figure it out. Friday the 13th went hilly at 6, got hillier at 8 and blew up at 9. Nightmare on Elm street progressively got less scarier wit each passing sequel (not including New Nightmare) but you had a tendancy to know what was going on. It has a continuing story. Halloween, on the other han, not quite. RZ turned Halloween in to a foul mouthed slasher of white trash . . . literally. And RZH II just made it worse. I don't know who owns this franchise, is it still Dimension? But these movies are becoming shamless cash ins. I do put RZH above Resurrection though . . . that movie is just plain bad. Gah, if I could go back in time, I'd let Carpenter let the Shape die in 2 like it was suppose to and do the Halloween of the year story like it was suppose to be. I wonder if that reboot could ever happen? *sigh* I doubt it.

The only Halloween sequel I find to be unwatchable is Resurrection. I have to say I enjoy all of the other movies.

Hated almost every second of it.

God, I hope that really happens. Tom Atkins in Halloween III would totally kick ass.

Yeah that would definetly be something I would be interested in seeing, sounds like this Halloween 3 will, like the first Halloween 3 not have Michael in it.

Here's what I haerd: Laurie Strode is the killer and it's set in smiths grove where it's a psychological thriller rather than a slasher movie. Okay I LOVE the original Halloween 3 but this new one, if that rumour is true, will make me pissed off!
