Fright Night is coming out next year and I think a couple of others are scheduled but it doesn't seem as rapid as it once was. Perhaps this trend much like this 3D trend will die down now that people are tired of it.

3D is going to be here for a while.
The remakes seem to be slowing down though.

I don't think anybody is purchasing these 3D TV's either. I hardly see them. Honestly, do you want to see Oprah in 3D in your house

They are still expensive and there aren't many DVD/BD titles or channels available.
However, more will become available.

I doubt that remakes will die out totally, but there could be less in the future.

The way I see it, the Halloween franchise is in a tough spot once again, as if you go by the director's cut of Halloween II, everyone is dead.
They will have to go by the theatrical cut, which Zombie has disowned, and even that will require ridiculous explanations and/or more retcons.
Some RZ supporters go on about ruining Zombie's vision, but the studio has had no problem ignoring that kind of thing before.

Oh yeah the studios love and respect the vision of the director...

A fellow cynic I see...very nice. I honestly hope that H3D doesn't happen or is at least delayed for a long time.

www.muveez.com/news/377/scout-taylor-compton-offered-halloween-3d-roleThis is pretty much common knowledge by now, but in an interview, Scout confirmed that Zombie is done with the franchise. There is no script yet, but she has been offered a part and is none too happy that they are considering some retconning for H3D. She is a little too loyal to Zombie, but we all know that if the money is right, she will sign on the dotted line. Plus, she should realize that the franchise has been retconning story elements since 1981, so it wouldn't be the first time.

The longer it stays dead the better. This franchise has been such a huge mess
