I agree. When I saw the art, I thought it was for the Nightmare remake DVD...

I think they're doing it to try and promote the new film. It's a cool picture and you really can't tell who it is. It's just a shape. Which looks like Freddy. In fact if I wasn't told it was the new guy as Freddy I'd assume it was Englund. Now if they'd shown his face and made it obvious I could see it maybe bothering me. But it doesn't so I'm not really bothered.

That's just wrong on so many levels, I mean he doesn't even appear in any of the films. I could half-way swallow it if they waited and put the remake in the set but even then it would be pushing it.

How can this NOT bother somebody? Jacky Earl Haley ISNT EVEN IN WHAT'S IN THE BOX. I can tell that is not Robert just by looking. Actually if you look the claw is photoshopped and the knives are pointing in the wrong direction.
New Line is desperate and people would do well with themselves not to buy this box set. The 1999 one I heard is much more superior.

I wasn't planning on buying it. As for caring. I guess I've just mellowed on things like this. Having new people play characters I love doesn't really bother me any more. Any more it just seems a waste of anger to get bothered by it. I mean if I can get used to someone else playing Captain Kirk etc. in Star Trek when I've been a fan of Trek for 30 years I guess I can get used to anyone being replaced. Anything popular in movies/entertainment will eventually get new people in those roles. People get to be too old or they don't fit in the new version. People age and entertainment changes. It's really nothing to get upset over. At least that's how I feel. I think living the life I had to live the last year just made me look at things differently. Who plays what part or how a company chooses to advertise seems pretty trivial after worrying about where your next meal or place to live is going to come from. LOL I used to get riled up or upset over these types of things. Who knows maybe someday this type of thing will bother me again. But right now it really doesn't bother me anymore.

The weird thing about this is they are using the Freddy vs Jason glove (which Robert played Freddy) but really making his silhouette look like Jakie's new Freddy. Messed up stuff here! This is only going to piss off true NOES fans....

I can understand IFDude's mentality somewhat but I think the actor who is in those movies should be the most infuriated. The one I know who own the 1999 box set seem completely happy with it.
I Just think this is overly distasteful of New Line to be this desperate. And to top it off, the glove is in REVERSE. The knives are ALL pointing in the wrong direction. Epic Fail.

It is in poor taste. Is there anything new in this box set? If not I say stick with the previous one. It'd be cheaper anyway. Or should be.

Yeah it definetly going to be cheaper than this new one, I picked my NOES box set up this past July or so new for like 25 bucks.

There ya go. If it really bothers you then don't get the new one. The way to show your displeasure is to not support the new box set.

Exactly. If Robert Englund himself doesn't care, why should we? And i am a hardcore nightmare fan, hardcore horror fan period.
