Is there somewhere you can read the comics online, do you get them at the library, etc.? I just read all 100 issues of the comic series that have been released thus far. If the ratings stay strong this show could easily last 10 seasons or more. It's amazing to see how many differences there are between the comic and tv show. But the show is still close enough it does the comic justice. I like the differences. Even if I do know some things in advance the changes are enough to make it possible to be surprised. An amazing comic and an amazing t.v. show.

I finally finished this series in two weeks time. Season 1 is superb and creepy. Season 2 is pretty good two minus Cherokee Rose and the two episodes that followed which should have been titled "Sophia Presents the Waltons" because of the melo drama. I hated that Dale was killed. And I love Hershel.
I look forward to season 3

I hope they don't blow it. I know how hard it can be to keep high notch quality TV going without the rails coming right off.

Looking forward to the new season. I'm not worried about the show at all. It's still early in the show and they are coming up on some really intense story lines to cover. They'd have to purposely screw it up IMO.

I enjoyed the premiere! Though the ending mildly pissed me off a bit. I like that character!

Its tough that had to happen to Hershel. I had a gut feeling that Walker that was laying "acting like it was sleeping/dead....which they are never not" he would wake up if anyone would of walked back to look for Maggie & Glenn. Unfortunately bad timing for Hershel. Rick had to act fast though cause they need Hershel. The first thing that came to mind was that they would have to chop off his foot, only way to keep the character alive & needed. But you said it Reb, really great premiere that I enjoyed a lot.

It still amazes me they show such gory scenes on regular cable now. I don't have cable. But AMC regularly cuts most of the gore out of horror movies. Has that changed? Are they showing more gore in the movies they show around Halloween? If not they should. I mean if they show zombies getting machetes to the skull and someone getting their foot cut off then they should be able to show a slasher movie mostly uncut.

I guess it changed, but you are right more gory scenes. I remember they used to be cut. It looks like its stepping up year by year as they start to realize it should of never been cut in the first place, making everything screened now "Uncut".

Pretty good episode tonight. Rick's character seems to be evolving in to a bit darker though nowhere near a Shane level of irritation.
Very hack em up motivated tonight! I didn't expect those new characters to leave that fast! The Hershel scene where he pops up made me friggin jump and I don't do that often!
I still hate Lori and Carol, please zombies eat them!

You said it Reb, what an episode, I loved it. Ok breaking this down. "The Hershel scene where he pops up made me friggin jump and I don't do that often!" Likewise, my whole Family did!!! Hershel trying to give folks a heart attack. Imagine the turn out that would have been if he wasn't back to himself. He is great as a character, so I'm happy to see him come alive, but its going to be tough on him....which would eventually fade as time goes by. As for Carl when dad is not around, have to give him props, but in a way his Mother is right. Daryl is on A Game, can't imagine how tough it would be if Rick did not have Daryl at his side. Daryl is my FAVORITE character though, then RICK.
Rick had to make the call, cause you don't want another Shane. Shane was great don't get me wrong, in a way I kinda miss him, he actually spiced up the series even more when he was around. Great character.
The best scene for me yesterday was 30:00-31:20 shit happens ;D
"You dead ese"
I can't wait for next week, cause I see that man Merle in revenge mode.

Hershel is probably my favorite male character. How sad is it I find most of the females irritating? I can't stand Lori. Carol I thought should have died last season instead of Dale. I aint sexist at all but damn
I can't wait for Meryl to come back. IT seems Daryl secretly had something against him with those flash backs last season so I CAN'T wait to see that on screen. No idea why they waited so long for that anyway! Meryl is freaking hilarious!

I had a feeling Merle would end up being with The Governor. They are definitely doing a slow burn with revealing just how twisted The Governor is. I'm really looking forward to seeing just how far they take the character.

Wow are they doing thing differently than the comic this season. His wife didn't die until the end of the Governor storyline. Plus the baby died the same time she did. So keeping it alive changes a lot of the story. The phone thing doesn't happen until some time after that. The way they are portraying the governor is a lot more toned down and deceptive than the comics too. He was way more over the top and sadistic than what we've seen so far. This is the best season so far IMHO. I had a feeling it would be though.

Spoilers
I think more people need to watch Talking Dead because you can get some great info on there. I've been reading comments from people about last night's episode and they were wondering what happened to Lori's body. The bloated zombie actually devoured her. Some people have a theory that Carol found Lori sewed her back up and they both escaped. After last night's episode my opinion is Carl did shoot Lori. I don't feel he would just shoot a wall or the ground instead and have his mom be dragged around and eaten by zombies in case she was just passed out after giving birth. Great scene with Daryl feeding the baby. I love this show it keeps you guessing and guessing.
