Absolutely, f*cking brilliantly said. Camper killed for that.I'm so happy you finally discovered these sequels bro.
I live through the horror movies i watch all the time. I totally understand Normans personality, and i can relate to it tremendously. Theres no other way for me.I'm surprised i'm not an anti-social sociopath.Believe me,if i didn't have morals-i don't know what i could have become. Seriously folks. Thanks man! I'm glad someone understands me! I guess the fear of jail and my morals keep me a regular citizen. Michael Myers (from Part 1), The WolfMan and Norman Bates are such a heavy influence on me that I battle the urge to fulfill the things that are deep and locked away in me.
I know it would feel so good to act on these urges and regret them later. I don't think Michael regrets anything. But Larry does and Norman uses his mother as an excuse. Maybe he really doesn't know it's him. Maybe he does and he feels comfort in blaming her and he feels less guilt.
Whatever the case they get to do it. Not in this reality but in some other world captured on that destine film running through those cameras. I wanna be there, I want to exist in that world.

but also demon remeber norman snapped when his mom died. in order to keep her alive his brain devolped a second personality which wa shis mom so really it wasn't exactly him doing the murders mentally but it was another personality doing the crimes.

I know exactly how you feel. For me,i would love to have a button that every time i pressed it, i instantly get transported to a world where vampires, ghouls, werewolves and all creatures of the night existed.
Hmmmm,i wonder if any other person would be able to live in my world.
But again i have to settle for the movies, because none of that stuff really exists.Sometimes i want to tear people apart limb from limb.I seem to have a lot of rage built up inside of me.Thats the reason why i can relate to the werewolf.I like vampires, but i just don't want to waste time seducing you and drinking your blood. I just want to tear you apart and eat.
But then when i let my anger get the best of me i get in trouble.Look what happened to me that night when i kicked that assholes ass at the shell gas station.
I'm still paying for that mistake today.

Norman has a very tenuous grasp on reality. I'm pretty sure he had no clue he was the one doing it in the first film. He's since learned he was the one responsible. I think when he slips into killing again he probably doesn't realize it's him at the time. But once he comes out of it he knows it's not his Mother who did it. Believe me Demon I think more people feel the way you do about wanting to feel the power of killing. It's just our morality and the law that stops us. If it wasn't taught to us at an early age that killing is wrong and there was no law against it there would be a lot more killing and a lot less people in the world. LOL

Part 3 was a little weird because we see Norman when he was a teen-getting an erection while looking at his mother undress was a little weird for me Well i dont know about undressing, but he got one when rolling on the floor with her after rubbing her leg. The crazy thing is I understood him! I would have gotten one too! Maybe I knew it would happen because you made this post. But either way I knew that would be where he got one! And he did!
She not bad lookin! Shes the chick from IT. I thought she was pretty cute so I understood him. I suppose if she was my mom I wouldnt have gotten one. But still I understood him. I am 6 beers into the night though.

Wow I just saw Part 3! I loved it! I think I liked it as much or a tad more then Part 2! It didn't drag at all! Amazing!
Spoiler below: Highlight it to read it.That's good! That woulda been odd and ruin everything. It's almost like they knew they were making sequels to the 22 year later sequel. Anyway I can't believe how much I am loving these!
Yeah, that was the only thing I didn't like about Part 2. If it was the only sequel made, I would just do what I do with the Halloween films and the Michael/Laurie connection....ignore it. Since the Part 3 was planned/made, I can deal with it. I'm definitely popping in 3 myself tonight. I'm dying to see Part 4 because of this thread. Olivia Hussey is his mother in that one...damn...I love her.

Okay I officially saw Part I-IV now! OMG was it an amazing ride! I can;t believe how much I love it!
Part 4 was amazing! They basically showed how it all happen! I guess that's why it's called the beginning! It was amazing! Even though Anthony wasn't the main star (sorta) he still was in it enough to be the big impact! It was nothing like Part 1-3 but still it was just as amazing!
I have no idea how to vote here... I loved them all as much as the other! I can't think of a not great one!
Drayton said Part IV was a made for TV movie but I didn't see the cheap film used like I noticed with The Stand. So to me it was just another movie.
Amazing stuff! I will vote for just Part 1 now and revise my vote when I can really decide which was best of the sequels.
Thank you Anthony Perkins for reprising your role. My life wouldn't have been the same if you hadn't.

I voted for Part I and II.
The series as a whole is decent, and the character of Norman Bates is an interesting one. He just steals the spotlight whenever he is in a scene, and only Anthony Perkins could have given him that.
Like Drayton did, I rank the films as follows: I, II, IV, and III.

Great underrated franchise. I love the first 2. Part III was also good, the more genuine slasher movie of the franchise but with a bit less substance IMO.
I have only seen Part IV one time, but really enjoyed it. I better get the DVD soon. It hasn't been out that long I don't think.
