I loved The Howling. Too bad the series of films after the first went to Hell so quickly.

I have seen 6 1/8 of them. Why 1/8 you say? Because I watched 5 minutes of VII and wanted to commit suicide! The first one I own and its a classic. Very good effects for its day and just fantastic. It has a IMDB rating of 6.5/ 10 The Howling II what is there to say about this one? I got a copy of this one as well. I put this on under it's so bad its good. It's fun to watch even though its not as good as the first by far. Sybal Danning is the main killer in this one who loves doing porn jazz. And I have a thing for the older guy in this one, he's just so good. 2.6/10 on IMDB Howling III. A strange movie about Marsupials. It's about human werewolf inbreeding. I did not really like this one. IT was alright? It's watchable. 2.5/10 on IMDB Howling IV. I actually liked this one. I love the atmosphere in this one. And the guy at the end who transforms in to a werewolf first by loosing all his skin, melting and falling in to a bunch of sludge with werewolfs in the background sayig "Satans calling" non stop was really FREAKY to me. It gets a lot of flack but oddly this one is more faithful to the book than the first one. It's not "as" entertaining but I liked it. 2.8/10 on IMDB Howling V. This one is strangely pretty darn good. It's kinda like a murder mystery weekend where you have to find out who the werewolf is. It starts off back in the old days where a guy is trying to eliminate the line of werewolfs but after he tries to kill himself and his wife I assume thats his wife after plunging the sword he hears a baby crying THUS the line is not destroyed. Then a guy in the Eastern European area gathers all who have a "mark" on them from that line or better yet that baby that could be the new werewolf. Great castle scenery. I think its pretty good. 4.1/10 IMDB? See eve the rating went up? ;D Howling VI is alright. It's about vampires vs werewolves essentially. I HATE the werewolf maku in this one. And the story was . . . ok. Its called "Freaks" because its about a freaky carnival that comes in. I don't really like this one. IV and V are better ALONG WITH better VHS covers, oh yeah baby. 3.9/10 on IMDB Howling VII This movie . . . is . . . just . .bad. I saw 5 minutes and wanted to put a bullet in my face. 1.6/10 on IMDB. Oh yes that means its in the worset movies of all time on that site. It deserves it. I am trying to find the courage to watch the rest of the movie some day. May need a bullt to bite on And I heard they are remaking the Howling as well.

Thanks Dtc. I like to give modest credit to some of the sequels and not outright bash them unlike some around here : P
I would still recommend sequel 2 for its so bad its good quality. 4 is truer to the book itself and 5 is a great murder mystery with great castle scenery in Eastern Europe.
3 and 6 are OKAY. And 7 really is bad, don't watch that one. . . . ever.
EDIT: I have seen all the Amityvilles as well. I will make a thread on the Amityville franchise just to ramble on those. Only one HUGE dud in that bunch as well.
The Psycho movies. Probably somebody else on here who can comment on them, I am not as faimilar aside from the original.

I have seen all the Amityville movies as well, although I have only seen some of the later one once. There were only 2 I couldn't stand. I don't remember the exact titles its been years since I've seen them, but the one about the doll house I didn't care for or the one with Patty Duke in it where the dead dad haunts the lamp in the attic or something like that.

The two you speak of are "Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes" is the one about the lamp. I actually liked that one! It's a made for TV movie. The other one is "Amityville Dollhouse" (1996). An umcomfy in that one is the stepmother lusting . . . after her own stepson >_> The rest are: Possession 3D The Evil Escapes (the lamp) Curse (a canadian movie which is a load of BS and makes no sense) 1992 (the clock) I liked this one New Generation (The mirror) Dollhouse I'll make a thread for this soon ;D
