I still strongly disagree as this is also my favorite franchise after Friday the 13th. This is such a populated realm, This isn't like a Friday the 13th where its more formulaic. Hellraiser the possiblities are endless and not formulaic. It involves pain, pleasure and hell for God's sake. It involves different people and not really focused on "one person" It doesn't have to focus on the cenobites the whole time. It was already becomming formulaic after 2 with 3 being a slasher and 4.
Variety is the spice of my life, I enjoy a change up. Blah.

They are horrible aren't they, from what I remember Pinhead is barely in the movie I think he shows up for like a minute, the story is slow, drown out and simply boring as hell. They don't even resemble what a Hellraiser film is suppose to be. If I put in a Hellraiser movie, I expect to see Pinhead in at least 45% of the film. I didn't buy a Hellraiser movie to watch a psychological thriller loosely written around the box. I almost get the same feeling as watching JgtH. Although were supposed to be happy because Jason's "worm" (which were supposed to be okay with that idea as well) is in these random actors. I don't care how different any sequel is from the first few... yet it is preposterous to make a sequel to a film and have it so loosely based on the main reprising character.... to the point where you almost forget youre watching Hellraiser and not a bad thriller on ecore. It's imperative that Pinhead be the central focal point of a Hellraiser. Just as Jason, Freddy, Norman and Michael are to their respective franchises.
Besides that fact... the movies arent really that good. 5 was more watchable. 6 is just a disaster... poor writing and by the time it's over you realize you never even had a vested interest in the main character because he was written poorly and the actor was not a leading man.
I'm in the middle of 7 "Deader" that story looks more promising.I do disagree, you do have to feature the cenobite characters as the franchise revolves around them. If that where the case then they would just make them into stand alone films with no relation to the rest of the franchise. My point exactly. (I was typing all I wrote while you posted that)

I know I am coming off as on the defensive but I still have more to say ;D First, Pinhead and the Cenobites if you want me to be blunt do not get the much screen time in Hellraiser 1 or 2. Hell Pinhead talks more in three than he does in ONE AND TWO PUT TOGETHER. So the Hellraiser story has never focused soley on just Pinhead ever. In the Hellraiser lore there is lots of exploration. Just don't want these very fascinating movies getting the Halloween III Season of the Witch treatment Secondly, Movies 1 and 2 involve the hell itself and the cenobites themselves. Three is more of a I want my hell on your earth slasher. 4 is more of a prequelized focus on the "toymaker" storyline. Five and Six(Barker himself approved of this one when Rick Bota brought him the script) involve human depravity and how opening the box brings hell and almost a purgatory like state in to your OWN LIFE. Deader deals with (going to re watch this one tonight been a while) I want to say somebody from the "Toymaker" line fascinated with bringing people back to life after death, takes place in Europe. Hellworld is about people who are obsessed with the Hellraiser lore until one of their own opens it for real and its not to much fun anymore plus Lance Henrikson pawned them all! thirdly, reason I said this has more ability to be loose is the Hellraiser story involves sadomasochism and behavior under stress and fear and human emotion (what Inferno and Hellseeker focus on) instead of just having Doug Bradley pop out of a box and make great one liners like he is Lord Zedd trying to take over the world or something! Forthy, I see what yall are saying but I am standing by my guns on this one. I am enjoying the debate though

Finished Deader.... another waste of my time. I can't believe I put my social life on hold for that... It just wasn't really good... no real payoff... All you see is Amy Klien sucking on a cigarette in every scene... that gets old quick...
*News Flash* Smoking doesn't make you look cool *News Flash*
Anyway.... just a boring story with slight potential. The ending isn't really very satisfying. Kinda feels like Pinhead does the same things in every ending....
So far I just like part 1, 3 and 4. 2 is too cheesy for me.

Heavy sigh. Ah well I tried at least I still love them regardless of the two on one against me I guess this means you both will enjoy the next one since it will have Pinhead in it full time alogn with "pseudo pinhead" who wants to be just like Pinhead one day?? Always reminds me of "Daddy I want to be like you one day" ;D The plot sounds like Twilight meets Hellraiser but of course it has to be good right??? ;D My prediction is Demon will hate Hellworld too To me Bloodline is still the weakest since it just dragsssss but we all have different mentalities on this franchise so i seems.

Wow you really take horror movies/message boards chat seriously huh? #2ld7qy8#
It's hardly us against you dude. The movies just happen to be bad. You can come up with any pseudo intellectual angle you want about why they are "still good" "without Pinheads one liners" but you just can't change what others see as enjoyable or good quality shit. These movies just aren't. At least not to us and were the only one's discussing it besides you. So if you see it as a 2 on 1 bashing it's really just your perception. You chose to defend the films. Argue your points and insist we dislike it for the wrong reasons.
This is just a message board and we are just people with opinions. There's is nothing at all to be bummed out about or get defensive about. This is all just killing a few minutes a day b.s.ing about horror flicks and crap. It's nothing important at all.

It's been a very good read I must say. While I disagree with Rebel on the later movies I appreciate his passion and love for the series. I vote for 1, 2, and 3 but I rate the original a 10, the second an 8 and part 3 is a 6/10.

Thank you Chainsaw and Yes Abraxis you did It's all good. I need passion in my life somewhere and movies just happens to be it ;D Anywho, I think we can all agree this new movie is going to suck donkey testicles. This is all that has been told so far: Hellraiser: Revelations is based on a script by Gary Tunnicliffe with Victor Garcia (Mirrors 2) set to direct. According to Bloody Disgusting, 'the plot will follow two friends who unleash Pinhead. One of the friends has a change of heart. He backs out on his oath hoping to swap himself out with one of his friend's family members. Bloody also learned there will be a male and female cenobite escorting Pinhead around town, with a new "Pseudo-Pinhead" being introduced. Shooting begins this September in Los Angeles.

That's just wrong for a Hellraiser film to be PG-13, that's the exact opposite of what the films are about. They are about pushing the envelope shown through the puzzle box and you can't really push much when your PG-13.

Those two you mentioned have a higher IMDB rating than Bloodline ;D How are they bad exactly? It's not because they are different and not the same old thing regurgitated is it? Just the implications the question presents alone proves you know nothing about me. You are meerly making assumptions. ;D
I probably more than anyone here am drawn to all the oddball and unpopular movies of every franchise. Not because I like to be different either. I just seem to share the odd man out vision of franchises.
Some of my favorite movies EVER include: Halloween III Psycho 3 Friday the 13th 8: Jason takes Manhattan Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge Hellraiser 4: Bloodline Halloween II (2009) Rocky 5 Sleepaway Camp 3 Lost Boys 2: The Tribe Ghoulies II
it goes on and on. The fact that most of these are my favoriet in the franchise, is a clear indication that I do not need the same regurgitated movie. My dislike for Friday 13th 3-D is MORE proof of that! The most popular one which is the start of the regurgitation in the franchise is my least favorite...
So no... my poor mislead arguing partner. I am afraid you have been lead a stray. I love different and new things. Anyone on here who has read enough knows that about me. Add the fact that I don't even date girls of my race and haven't (but 0ne) in 10 solid years, is yet another indication how I like new and refreshing things and approaches to what has become familiar.

I was being sarcastic since what I said is usually peoples responses on most sites I am on everything Half of what you mentioned I like. Halloween III, NOES 2, Sleepaway Camp 3, I only own Ghoulies III not II but I found III entertaining, Jason Takes Manhattan I don't hate just has weird plot holes. No need to get so upset. And my favorite debate arguing partner I don't date period As far as this franchise itself goes. The remake is suppose to be a teen oriented flick thus saith the Weinteins which means its going to suck balls. The installment "Revelations" no Doug Bradley and the new one will look like. Drum roll! THISI rank the franchise as follows: Hellraiser Hellraiser Hell on Earth Hellraiser Hellbound Hellraiser Inferno Hellraiser Hellseeker Hellraiser Deader Hellraiser Bloodline Hellraiser Hellworld (I don't hate it but probably is the weakest but oh so fun seeing Lance Henrikson pawn everybody!)

No need to get so upset. And my favorite debate arguing partner I don't date period Not upset just went back and read older stuff so I get familiar before responding and realize I never really responded to that because Abraxas did instead.
I love debating, just don't wanna look like a prick when they all look like arguments #JMSmile#

I actually probably have turned into a jerk over the years. Even on CLAD I have. If you have to time stamp it I probably turned into a jerk around 2008 as I experienced worse things and people in my life. I eventually sniffed out all the cheap shots at me because my guard is now up and I snap back, instead of glossing over it like I used too. But in my experience most people are jerks. You just have to know what to say to get that side them out of them. Which is what happens to me in most cases
Anyway I am soooooo glad they put Part 4 Bloodline on Bluray! I got it a few weeks ago for Halloween and just watched it for the 2nd time ever. It was just as good if not better than the first time I saw it! Especially in HD it looked amazing! Really good make up job on everyone!
Definitly the best movie by far unless youre a "part 1 is always the best in a franchise" kinda person. Great story, great casting and a lot of PinHead. He is a bit chatty in this but it's usually cool stuff being said. So it gets a pass. The main girl villian is pretty hot in her own way. Def a killer body!
Enclosed is a pic of herself as a demon! Even taken with my iPhone you can see the amazing high definition of the bluray and how pristine the picture is. Also how it brings out how amazing the make up is.

I voted for Parts 1 and 2. Kind of Meh about the rest. But then again I haven't seen any of the others in quite some time. Kind of want to see the newest one to see how someone else did playing Pinhead.
