5 out of 5. Not only was this an incredible movie, but it helped start the genre. For that it gets all the credit in the world. Check out the Ed Gein movie bio here www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8bxh5xYKec

That doesnt mean he was a cannibal, it meant he was trying to feed it to his neigbors. He collected skin and bones, but I never recall hearing anything about him being a cannibal. okay look ed ate the remants of dead bodies he dug up why idk yet apprently he was punnishing them for sins or something like taht the movie how ever and i mean ed gein the movie never really exploits that part of his phsycoticness but yes he did eat the remants of dead people its even claimed that he made a mask out of one of victims but never wore it the police never found it it may have been burned in his farm or somethin

Has to be a 5.
Considering the year it was made and the fact that it's still scary today I think it's a pretty amazing film.
So many modern horrors have clearly tried to copy the TCM in certain ways (Wrong Turn / Jeepers Creepers etc) but they don't succeed.
Still, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery heh.
Must have been a really scary film when it was released as I think it's fair to say people generally got scared a lot easier back in the 70's.

One of my favourite movies ever. I'm wating for the Ultimate Edition to be released (5 more days!!!). Yeah, as I said, I think this movie is brilliant, and somewhat disturbing.

It's a landmark in horror films! It shocked the world. Nobody had never seen macabre at this level before. I give it a 5.

Tobe Hooper's masterpiece. He's made alot of good movies over his career, but none come close to TCM. Brilliant.

The end scene has to be the bloodiest i've ever seen for a 1974 film.

The bloodiest and without a doubt one of the most intense scenes as well.

5.
This is one of the greatest horror films ever produced. I find this movie to be extremely grusome in it's absence of blood and gore. It suggests more violence and madness then most other horror films show.

The other night this movie came on cable and I've been wanting to see it again but, there were other movies that were on. Darn! Still looking around video stores for this original.
