(1986) A group of teenagers that work at the mall all get together for a late night party in one of the stores. When the mall goes on lock down before they can get out, The robot security system activates after a malfunction and goes on a killing spree. One by one the three bots try to rid the mall of the "Intruders". The only weapons the kids can use are the supplies in other stores. Or...if they can make it till morning when the mall opens back up ____________________________________________________ Another 80's gem i love watching
People trapped in malls trying to escape whatever terror is after them(it could be Zombies or in this case killer robots) always grabbed my attention.

Wow, I'd almost completely forgot about Chopping Mall. Thanks for bringing it up XN. It's probably been 12 years since I've seen this one. Like you said, yet another 80's gem.

I think Chopping Mall was genius. It's one of my many fav. 80's horror films. The dvd also has a good commentary that i love listening to with the director.

I like watching CHOPPING MALL! The cast is great and I have seen them in other films/t.v. shows: Tony O'Dell ("Head of the Class"), Kelli Maroney (NIGHT OF THE COMET), Barbara Crampton ("The Young & the Restless," "The Bold & the Beautiful," REANIMATOR), and John Terlesky ("Sirens," "Paradise").

I remember when I was little on USA up all night, the working title on USA wasn't "Chopping Mall", it was "Killbots". It took me years to find a copy, because "Killbots" was not listed in anyone's catalog to order. Thank god for the new DVD!

It wa on VHS in the late 80's so of course I did see it ;D.
I just remember I wasn't into the whole robot thing.
Maybe I'll buy it for like $5 and try again though. I was a lot younger then and maybe I will appreciate it more now.

it's one of my favs! i think because it was filmed at the now extinct sherman parks galleria from fast times at ridgemont high, and valley girl, they knocked it down in the mid 90's. so kool to see it, also Phantom of the Mall was also filmed there!

I would recommend it. But then again,i'm not too sure what your taste in horror is.
I know for a fact that FridayFan loves 80's horror like me. So if you're not too picky about your horror,i say watch chopping mall. I really enjoyed it.
