I've always enjoyed all the Prom Night films. Part 2 is the only one I don't own, so I'll be getting this.

I'll be getting this soon, as well as the III and IV double feature along with it. I'm aware they are completely different films than the original, though I think either III or IV goes back to the slasher roots a little.

My friends and I really like the original PROM NIGHT. During freshman year in college we rented HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II, and were disappointed that it did not connect to the first story.
I like part 3; however, it is different, too. None of the stories seem to connect. It seems like they should change the titles every time, but franchises make people a lot of money.
I would like to see part 4: "Deliver Us From Evil," because one of my favorite actors is in it. Does anyone know where I can find it?

I watched II-IV over the weekend. II was a pretty good flick. I prefer the original, but I thought this turned out quite well. III was horrible, but it was at least hilarious. IV had no redeeming qualities and was just plain boring to me. 7/10 for II, 4/10 for III, and 2/10 for IV.
Terridawn, III and IV are on the same disc and you can get a copy from probably any online site. I bought mine from DeepDiscount.com for $8.

This movie was OK, I only wish it just was titled differently as it is of no relation to the original. Ar least the title rhymed though. I remember the original ad for it on TV back in the 80s.

I think Part 2 is much better than any of the others, including Part 1. I have 2 DVD versions, one was the old DVD release (full frame, Region 1 Canada) and the new widescreen. The new version has a much better transfer.

I like the first one better, but enjoy this one quite a bit as well. They're two very different movies, so it's kind of hard to compare them.

I really can't compare. Prom night 2 is really a stand alone movie. It had nothing to do with the first one at all.
I enjoy both films equally.

That's the problem with unrelated sequels people are conditioned to think if its a sequel than it has something to do with the movie that came before it, and when its discovered that it doesn't people tend to get annoyed. So attaching a movie to a previous one it has very little to nothing in common with ends up hurting it more in the long run than if it was released independently.
