I like this movie, but if you want a lot of gore in your horror this may not be the movie for you. The story is written fairly well, as character development exists. This is Tom Hanks' feature film debut. Chiller has been showing HE KNOWS YOU'RE ALONE quite a bit lately.

It was at least an original concept for the killers motive and style but an average 80s slasher IMO. As far as Hanks goes, I think he's on the screen for like 20 seconds.
A little suspenseful but like terridawn says it is lacking in gore.
Haven't seen it in a long time.

Unless I'm mistaken isn't this about all the women who are engaged to be married being killed? I remeber the score mimicked Halloween but not the storyline. Unless I got mixed up, all the 80s slashers it does happen from time to time.

Chainsaw,
You're right. In this movie the killer stalks and kills women who are engaged to be married because his fiance' had an affair and decided not to marry him. That made him hate all brides-to-be. However, he kills one of the lead character's friends and the professor she has an affair with, even though neither are engaged.
The story goes in a circle, because the lead character decides not to marry her fiance'. Instead she marries the guy who works at the morgue, and in the end we are supposed to assume that her previous fiance' is going to kill her just like the killer who was stalking her all along because she dumped him for the other guy.
I think the movie has a good score. I do not think it sounds like the HALLOWEEN score, though. However, the composer may have been inspired by Carpenter.

Haven't seen it in a long time. Yeah, I know, Tom Hanks is only in two scenes. I like his performance, though. A young Dana Barron (NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION) is also in the movie.

I don't think it was an original concept at all. It clearly riped off Halloween. But i still enjoy the movie at lot though. Good cast and overall story.

I haven't seen this one in years and I don't really remember it that much. I need to find it on DVD.

You can find it on Amazon or Ebay. I haven't seen many stores carry it around my area.Someone should open up a horror dvd shop. That would be cool.

A horror DVD shop sounds like a good idea. Not everyone likes shopping on the Internet.

I've wanted to open one up for the longest time now, I just know it wouldn't do that great around here. What area do you guys think one would do best in?

It is hard to say. Maybe metropolitan cities, but then I know people in rural areas who would love a store like this. It might be good to start the business on the Internet and then take a poll. I know that kind of defeats the purpose, but it is the only way to know where the horror DVD shoppers are.

I think probably cities would be the best. I don't think small towns could support a shop that specialized. But its definetly a great idea especially if you specialized in the extremely rare films.
