Watch out for the Marz! Many people hate this film I do'nt see why. I think it is creepy especially when Richie sees Marz on the tree. I see this film on IFC when i have the chance. There is a girl that hides in the fridge which is funny. But Marz is a creepy and scary killer who is cool when he stalks his freinds!

We have discussed this before but it is worth a look. It has good 80's atmosphere, decent gore, good backstory, and a decent attempt at music aside from the hot tub scene which is so cheesy it's funny.
My big knock is I don't like the way the killer himself looks. I just wish they would have humanized him more. As far as 80's slashers go, it gets the typical 7/10 from me. A must see.

This is a great slasher. I've only seen it once, on IFC I believe, but it was pretty good. This seriously needs a re-release.

Yeah, it's a cheesy and not-very-good slasher movie, but it delivers in so many areas that t becomes great.

I didn't like this movie the first time I saw it, but now it has grown on me. Now I watch it for fun. I like laughing at things that I know are not supposed to be funny, but it is cheesy and the acting is embarrassing (If the script were better, some of the actors could have given better performances).
sCabbOy, I am enjoying following your FRIDAY THE 13TH blog!

Just watched it a couple nights ago and it gets a ringing endorsement. It was all at night, which is cool, the cabins and house both rock, and it was in the winter. I agree with the look of the Madman- wish it would have been different. Good movie though....I could have sworn there was a sequel based on the end, but no dice...

I also liked it very much! Corny and cheezy but man do I like that killer! Really intimidating! That's a guy I'd really be afraid of.

They did, but its pricy as hell. Pricier than a new Blu ray thing in Walmart. It's well over 30 dollars last I checked.

I liked this movie. I thought the scene where Marz takes the axe out of the stump was a funny nod to King Arthur.

The weird singing scenes were cheesy. The story about Madman was cool. He had some good kills and looked intimidating. Though the makeup was a little cheap looking. With a bit better story and makeup effects it could have been a good start to a franchise. It's a film I actually wouldn't mind seeing remade.

I thought Kurt Angle was going to play Madman in the remake. What the heck happened? Did it just get scrapped all together because I haven't heard anything in a long while?
