Barn of The Naked Dead
Three beautiful young women are bound for Las Vegas to become showgirls. And it's not long before their car breaks down and they're stranded in the middle of the Nevada desert. After spending the night in their car, a man named Andre offers them a lift to his place and a tow truck. But the girls quickly learn there's more to Andre than meets the eye and they're soon taken prisoner, joining a slew of other women. Andre fancies himself a ringleader and these girls are trained and whipped like animals in a circus. Meanwhile, Andre's daddy is a hideous mutant locked in a shed, and one of his captives reminds him of his dead mommy. Escape seems hopeless at first but pretty young girls don't go missing without someone noticing. Director Alan Rudolph went on to a major career in Hollywood as an assistant director for the legendary director Robert Altman (Nashville) and has since become a respected director in his own right (Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle). Also known as Barn of the Naked Dead, this DVD of Terror Circus is the first and only authorized release of this sleazy relic with a sparkling new transfer from original elements
While by no means perfect, this is the best way to see this incredibly obscure grindhouse horror pic. The mastering is not the greatest, but it looks far superior to a VHS and is obviously not from a videotape. Andrew Prine as usual delivers in the demented protagonist department. If you ever saw his deranged performance in either CENTERFOLD GIRLS or SIMON KING OF THE WITCHES, you'll know what awaits you here. Okay, so the girls are never totally naked -- or at least naked when they're dead, but who cares if the title literally represents the content of the movie? Prine excels as an insane young man living in the desert who has a whole boatload of female hitchhikers chained up in his barn to do his ringmaster bidding. His poor old dad stumbled a bit too far from home one day, got exposed to an overdose of radiation and is now a horrible-looking mutant. Great trash.
Look, its a bad movie but worth at least seeing once for the average horror fan.I personally quite enjoyed watching this hawrah. Thats because i'm labeled as a fanatic ..lol
