I thought this flick was great, a nice Friday The 13th-esque slasher from the early 80's. Cropsy, the killer, reminded me (looks) of the original Jason face in Part 3.. The raft massacre scene is classic. Savini rocked in this film too.

How right you are.EVERY Friday the 13th fan should see that movie. The raft scene alone is worth a view.Unfortunately its only available as a hard to find uncut VHS or you can pay $50 for a DVD with a straight from VHS transfer like I did!

You can get a digital print to DVDr of the uncut movie from Revok.com.
In the movie, the campfire scene is identical to the one in F13 2. Telling the story of Cropsy, and then someone jumping out with a mask to scare them...
Good movie though.

I have thought about ordering from Revok before...but I wanted to know..are they just burned copies?

yeah, they are burned.. usually sourced from laser disc. Hard to find a real copy of this, and if you do they run $30 or so.
if you want a real copy, I think upcominghorrormovies.com has them

Did you know it was filmed near Buffalo Scabbot?

You should ask anyways, I have gotten DVDr's that were sealed (only takes a vacuum sealer). I have jsut been ripped off many times. The lastest is I bought a DVD "The Lenegd Of Billie Jean" and the title said "new imported and sealed" When I got it it was a DVDr with a copied cover. When I left neutral feedback saying it played great, but it was a DVDr the seller left me NEGATIVE saying I was a liar, and it was real. So be careful.
Yeah, I knew The Burning was filmed near Buffalio, wich I knew the exact spot!
