I first became aware of this movie as a kid when I read an article in a horror magazine called Chillers.Unfortunately I never got to see it until maybe 9 or 10 years ago when I finally came across it at a video store. Its one of my all time favorite slasher movies and no matter how many times I see the raft scene,it still kicks ass.

Great slasher !
If they had given him a cool name and something to build a sequel on, i think that could have been a good series for like 3 parts.

I like the name Cropsey..
I agree that they coulda of done something more with this guy..
Shame there wasnt a sequal. You never no though with all the remakes popping up, There could be a new age Cropsy taking out the kids with his sheers or possibly a sequal to the original.
I'd be happy with a fresh sequal as long as it was written and directed well.
Would they do a remake? Anythings possible.

Cropsy was beheaded at the end, right?
I think a sequel would have been cool, but the movie left nobody to carry on a sequel.
I would like a remake as well, I think it would be interesting.

THE best Friday the 13th rip-off IMO. With Savini's best work since Maniac. A very underrated slasher flick, this one really deserves an Anchor Bay DVD release.

Tom Savini did some behind the scenes stuff for the extra features.

Can't wait for the R1 release at last.I have a Savini doc on my bootleg copy, I hope it's a new one.Either way, I'm burning so many DVDs these days, it doesnt matter what region they are anymore but still it's been a loooong time coming.

You know as much as I've heard about this amazingly I've still never gotten the chance to see it. I looked for it at my local Hollywood Video and they didn't have it. Which was suprising consider how large their Horror section is. Of course I haven't been to the video store in quite awhile due to funds. Maybe they've gotten it. I'll have to check again in July when I might be able to afford to rent it.

Coming to DVD September 11, is the uncut version of the '81 slasher film The Burning. The movie will be presented in a remastered hi-def widescreen transfer with all of Tom Savini’s gory FX intact, accompanied by commentary by director Tony Maylam and a featurette including a Savini interview and behind-the-scenes footage of his gory handiwork.

Well then I'll wait untill that version comes out. It's be better to see the best version possible. I've held off buying those eBay 'knock-offs' and those R0 copies for that same reason. It will be worth the wait.

I look forward to being able to view it with chapter stops, as my burned DVD doesn't have any.
