The first one had that war skeleton, that was the coolest-looking thing, or one of them.

I absolutely love House. One of the best horror/comedies ever made IMO. Just recently got it on DVD from deepdiscount.com.

House was directed by Steve Miner who directed Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3, Halloween H2O, was associate producer for the original Friday the 13th and assistant producer for Last House on the Left. House is worth getting based on those credentials alone in my opinion.

House 3 and 4 were really bad. But the first 2 were good!

I see some House 3 bashing! Can't go wrong with Lance Henrikson who is in House 3. I thought it was probably the "scariest" out of all of the House sequels. It's just different. It's the Halloween III and the Friday V of the House movies.
The first House was pretty good. I remember it when I watched it about a month ago online it was amazing. Can't take it too seriously but those creepy things creeped me out as a kid.
House 3 which I saw a month ago was well was pretty good despite flank it gets from people.
House 2 I haven't seen in ages which I will before I make a comment and House 4 I have never seen.

Okay I got House III and IV last night! I'm very excited! I LOVE House! House II was dreadful... ???I watched the first 32mins of House III then had to go to bed! But I REALLY liked it! The villain/ghost plays it a tad cheesy but Lance doesn't! So it really helps! So far it seems the actual house has nothing to do with it... it even has a diff name! "The Horror Show"! So you might have to look it up that way! Looking forward to the rest! #cool23#
House IV got terrible reviews... 2.6 out of 10 but we'll see. I never go by anyone else's opinion. I have realized in 31 yrs that most people are assholes. They love to spout negativity everywhere they go because they think it's cool to put things down. To not act worked up or impressed over anything. So I will see it this week and let ya know

Am I horrible for not ever seeing any of these? I've heard of them, but not very much. The only thing I recognize was XN's .gif, because it was in his signature for a bit. lol.

I've seen the first two, didn't even know there were a 3rd and a 4th. Can't really say anything about them since its probably been close to 15 years or more since I saw then. Honestly don't remember a single thing about them I only remember what the house looks like and general stuff like that.

Well in 1986 Roger Cobb stayed at his Aunts house after her suicide, in order to write a book. In 1992 (House IV) he owned (and lived in as a boy) another haunted house which his father didn't want him to sell. He makes an on screen appearance in this movie. Acting much different then his character from 1986. Dies about 10 mins in and his family move into the house.
Only at 24mins but very disappointed at his acting, the new house and the fact that HIS FAMILY IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Where's the son that disappeared in Part 1? Why is he replaced with a daughter? Why even have him with a family in it if you couldn't recast them all? Ok... replace one maybe... but both of them? Making the little boy a girl now?
Hope this is good....

Hell I think its BETTER made than House II and probably House IV. House the original is just plain FUN but The Horror Show canceled out the comedy and I think its the second best in the series with epic Lance Henrikson. ;D Never seen House IV though.

Hahaah thanks man you too
Well i finished it and it was bad ass! Seriously happy about that too! It is quit obvious that this is not a true "House" movie. In fact this film is actually unrelated to the House (1986) film series. The producers renamed this film "House 3 (1989)" for the non US market. Because of the existence of this title, the owners of the "House" series had to rename their third film House IV (1992) #24# I have the feeling they didn't truly believe in the film. They didn't think the title would exactly grab anyone either. They thought it was decent and needed the right marketing. So they threw another title over it "House III" which already had some household value and wahlah.... we have a trilogy. Of course House IV was already in production and when the Horror Show adopted the title "House 3 (1989)" the producers of this film opted to call it 'House IV' to avoid confusion.
Funny stuff... I rate House III a 7.5 out of 10. Hope they make a House I-IV BluRay set.

Yeah House III and Shocker germinated out of the same idea - a failed attempt at a TV show called Dreamstalker, that Wes Craven and Sean Cunningham were going to co-produce.I guess neither of them could let the idea lay idle.
I have the Aussie VHS here.I'll post a scan when I get some more time.

To a certain extent I agree with you,the last time I watched Trick or Treat I noticed the similarities. The main difference is that Sammi gets his power from music, while Horace from Television.Add to that fact that they probably have the two greatest soundtracks in the history of film(song not score).Except, Trick or Treat was made before The Hidden,so didn't employ the 'body jumping' that became a trend for a few years, even hitting the small screen in Quantam Leap, and unfortunately engulfing our beloved Friday series.
