Recommended for any slasher fan, this was shot around 1978 but not released until 1984. However, on the vhs itself, the year said 1980. Even though this film has many F13 elements, apparently it was scripted and shot before it. Despite much stock footage of wildlife and some completely unnecessary scenes that seem to be there just to pad the 80 minutes, you can't deny the great location where this was shot. Decent suspense for the killings, good gore considering the small budget, and even though it is formulaic, it has a unique ending. If you haven't seen it, give it a shot.

First I've heard of this one, but if its a late 70s/early 80s slasher than I'll definetly give it at least one shot.

LOL, never thought I would see this. This movie is actually regarded by my friends and I as the worst movie ever, that is until I saw Black Devil Doll From Hell anyway. One of the many hundred horror movies I rented in the 80's as a young teen and it lives in infamy still. We tried for years to see it again for a laugh but could not. Once about 5 years ago I got a VHS copy but it went bad after 10 mins but I finally found someone that had a DVD and bought it a few months ago. It wasn't even good for a laugh, well maybe a little. There's a bunch of wildlife scenes for no reason and the sound is bad with like 4 people talking at once at one point. The tagline is ridiculous also, "It's not human, and it's got an Axe, LOL.
Not to insult your tastes dtc, diff strokes for diff folks man, seeing this just took me by surprise is all.

That's fine Chainsaw. But there is a point to having those wildlife scenes, as they set the tone of nature being in charge and not wanting to be disturbed by jackass teenagers. This probably wasn't intentional, but if you watch it with that in mind, it sort of helps. Also, the inaubible ramblings of the kids around the campfire can be viewed as being heard from the perspective of nature. This movie could have been better obviously. The super slo mo scene towards the end just kills it.
