Weird little movie. Has a 4.0 on IMDB. It's a New years slasher early 80s, 1980 to be exact. Revolves around a killer making death threats over a phone to the hostess to a new years party called "New Years Evil". He calls himself "Evil" using a voice changing machine. Sounds like throat cancer. It starts off good. Has a good musical score but flat lines in the middle and gets a bit tedious to me. I have seen better. Watchable with modest gore. Enter at your own risk. Originally released by Cannon films and I doubt it has a re-release beyond the Cannon VHS. Catchy cover art though! I give it . . .2 out of 5 stars

*Sigh* I envy you, you had the opportunity to have epicness at least >_> This stuff is rare as hell today thankfully I found a copy to stream last night.

It isn't the greatest but it's required holiday viewing. Decent premise too. The soundtrack is good for laughs and nostalgia though. Fun with the right crowd.

I've always heard about this one in context of all the holiday horror that came out around that time. Never had the chance to see it myself, but what you said is pretty much what I've heard. I'm sure I'll see it one day just to add it to my 'watched list'.

It's OKAY. Nothing to brag home about. It's not even THAT entertaining. It just kinda trucks along with a few kills here and there with the throat cancer killer

Agreed. I've seen better, but if your looking for New Year's themed horror, there isn't much more out there.
