so in other words I'm glad I didn't pick up Halloween II, although when I saw that it contained hardly any special featuers, i knew i would pass on it

I am definitely getting it! I LOVE H2 and need it on BluRay! I heard it looks great from die hard fans. What I posted was technical stuff. Casual watchers will be just fine with it

Wow.... totally disappointed with the H2 bluray along with XN. LOTS of white specs everywhere on the film! I never noticed this before! It is a sharp transfer but the white specs are sooooooooooo distracting! I dont even know if I would recommend this or not....

You mean film grain? That is supposed to be there.

Why though? Personally I would find it distracting, but if Halloween 2 was released in the theater like that that would make sense but that's kinda extreme

For some BD releases, they use DNR (digital noise reduction) and it ruins the look of the film. Some movies are just meant to have a grainy look. I have mentioned this example before, but RZH2 uses it very well.
Also, not all restorations are going to be the same, especially if the quality of the existing material isn't that great. I have Metropolis on BD and considering that the film stocks are from 1927, you aren't going to get something that looks like Iron Man 2 when you restore it.

Very True. Personally, I would LOVE it being used on TCM 73

I just don't look to purchase movies I already own on blu ray unless they have some new special features, most movies I've seen from the 70s and 80s that are brought to bly ray from dvd aren't worth the extra 10 bucks or so

No I mean WHITE SPECKS that appear like dirt throughout the film. It is best seen in dark scenes of course.

That is probably because we are dealing with Universal, who were never going to do a full restoration on the movie. It is a wonder that they bothered to release it.
