I just watched the trailer for some crappy DTV flick called Blood Night, which happens to have Halloween favorite Danielle Harris in the cast. She seriously needs to find a new agent.
If she wants to be part of a wide theatrical release, she has to go back to Halloween. The problem is that both of her characters are dead, so I guess it is back to rental shelves for the rest of her career.

Yeah I know what you mean I can't remember the last time I saw her in anything other than a Halloween movie.

She was in Hatchet 2, but that was only in theaters for a few days.
People can bash JLC all they want, but her lack of films recently is by choice, as she has lots of money and doesn't have to make movies like Blood Night to pay the bills.

This happens to most all child actresses half the time. Especially if they are in something long enough to be seen as THAT person. Nobody wants to think of them other than that so they never get hired eslewhere. She was great in Hatchet II Not sure of the bashing of a DTV movie. It isn't like half of the wide theaterical horror movies are something to brag about. I think NOES remake killed Earl Haley's career, he hasn't been in nothing since that and he was like surging before that (random I know unless Tim Burton signed him for that new movie which I haven't checked and too lazy to do) The thing about horror movies is they can't get a gig in anthing outside of that. Of course they'd be wise to stay in the genre once they are in it, horror fans don't abandon if they are epic . . . normally

He was recently in a TV Series called Human Target which lasted for two seasons. It got cancelled though. I think NOES remake killed Earl Haley's career, he hasn't been in nothing since that and he was like surging before that (random I know unless Tim Burton signed him for that new movie which I haven't checked and too lazy to do)

I will reference JLC again, who was known as a scream queen, but branched out into several genres and even won a Golden Globe award in the process.
He also earned an Oscar nomination for Little Children and got lots of critical praise for Watchmen. His career is far from over.

I think NOES helped Jackie to get his name out there more. And I agree with jer on JLC. JLC stopped doing Halloween after 2 to do other films like Trading Places ( which she was VERY funny in)

Yeah I don't get why fans bash her I mean do people really think that horror actors wouldn't make the jump to more 'serious' films like she did if they could. I mean just from a paycheck point of view, the check from one role in Hollywood blockbuster could easily be bigger than several horror films solely because the budget would be bigger.

They are mad that she doesn't do tons of conventions like Danielle, who probably relies heavily on that for her income.

You don't hear people complain when other actors like Kevin Bacon or Johnny Depp do cons so why should she be the exclusion?

They got a great guest list. I always thought the guy who played Gomez addams was dead lol.

Yeah, the promoters seem to be able to bring in people who don't usually do cons. They got Dario Argento to do make his first North American appearance.

They got John Watters too. Anyhow back to topic. I mean to bitch about JLC not doing cons is quite dumb. First of all her parents were LOADED. Danielle Harris's weren't ( to my knowledge anyway). So JLC can kick back and relax whenever she wants.

It seems that the Fan Expo people need to retract their claim, as Danielle was at Wizard Con here in March.

You do know why she turned down the part, right? They wouldn't even give her $5,000 to be in the movie, which wasn't much to ask given the $5 million budget. If you were an actor and they tried to lowball you with some ridiculous salary, wouldn't you be a little pissed off?
When Mickey Rourke was cast as Ivan Vanko/Whiplash, the studio wanted to pay him a measly $250,000 despite having a $200 million budget. He almost backed out of the project and they ended up giving him a good deal more.
It is hardly her fault and to say that is rather ignorant.
