Just wanted to know you're thoughts on Amityville Horror.Do you believe in the Lutz's statments about the house being haunted and all the strange things going on or do you think it was just a hoax to cash in on The murders that happened there and what are you're thoughts on the murders ?
I've been doing alot of research on this stuff latley just sparked a interest in it recently for some reason.

Absolutely not. Ronald Defeo admitted several times that he was under the influence of LSD that night and there was a rough history in the family. As for the Lutz's well a lot of the things they claimed happened were logically explained, they later admitted to making up the story.

I think it was just a Hoax to cash in. From the beginning the Lutzs were way over their heads buying that house. They just couldn't afford the mortgage,so maybe they just wanted out and some cash on their way to a new life. But lets just say the Lutz's story really did happen, how come no other owner ever reported anything abnormal? The current owners who live in the house never experienced any paranormal activities there.
I don't believe Ronald Defeo was possessed by the devil either. That guy killed his family out of pure anger and under the influence of drugs.Prime example of domestic violence in the home.
You can find pictures of the Defeo crime scene here.www.amityvillemurders.com/crimescene.html

I'm watching a documentary now and its strange how other family members didn't hear the gun shots. Were they drugged or something?

Well that's been brought up. Often when someone is deep asleep they can't hear anything until they wake up, also there was a thunderstorm that night. But who knows, one thing is for sure that house isn't haunted one bit.

I'm watching a documentary now and its strange how other family members didn't hear the gun shots. Were they drugged or something? Thats actually a pretty good guess. We know for a fact that Ronnie used drugs.Maybe during dinner time that night he laced everybody's drinks or food with some kind of drug that made the entire family really sleepy. That would also explain all the dirty dishes that was left in the kitchen. The family was simply just to tired to clean up after dinner and just wanted to go to bed.Police report claimed that none of the neighbors heard gun shots, but during the years one neighbor admitted to hearing a few gunshots but couldn't pinpoint the location and just didn't want to get involved.
Heres a couple of pics taken this year of the house.Nice new fence around the front lawn!

There where no drugs found in their bodies during the autopsy but Ronnie killed his father first and it is said that the mother was getting up but before she had the chance to turn around she was shot. Next Ronnie went to his little sisters room where she was facing the bedroom door probley to scared to see what was happening so facts say that she was awake also.
His two brothers room was right next to the little sisters so it was likely they were awake also,Marc had a injured hip which made it hard to move around without help so that caused him to sleep on his back but he was found face down by police like the rest.
Ronnie could of forced the boys to turn around so he didn't have to look at their face well shooting them they were found clutching their bed sheets.Dawn came out of her bedroom and asked Ronnie if everything was ok well he was climbing the stairs he said everything was alright so she went back to bed were he probley shot her though many have said there is alot wrong with how she died no one can really explain what really happened to Dawn.

Interesting. If the kids were awake during the murders, why didn't someone scream or run out the house? The Marlin Model 336 rifle used is extremely loud.If i hear a couple of shots that loud,i'm going to try to get out and ask questions later. In this case though,it seems like everybody just willingly gave themselves up to the slaughter. Its just hard for me to find some of the family members awake credible. Someone would have ran out. Just my opinion.

Maybe they were scared and thought if they scream or try to run the killer (Ronnie) might try to kill them which does make sense if you think about it because they don't know if the killer is still in the house or not thats my reason but I still don't know about Dawn though.

Well, not all of them were shot, Ronald killed his parents first, then the sister ( the young one) who saw him was told to keep the others quiet and not wanting to upset him she did, he went out for a quick drive, came back, argued with her, accidently strangled her and in a rage, killed the others. They were awake when they died. At least that's the story he tells.

Have any of the Lutzs' children ever been interviewed about the case? If Ronnie went for a quick drive I sure as hell wouldn't have still been there when he got back.

There's no need to, the massacre occured in 1974, they moved in I think in 1976. And then the Lutz's made up the story.

Still don't believe it's haunted, everything they claimed happened was logically explained by Defeo himself. That house is just like every other house in Amityville.

Yea it was proven to be completely fake years ago. A doc about how fake it is is on Netflix somewhere.

This really fascinates me. I don't believe the house is haunted either but I'd watch the documentary just out of curiousity of what Daniel has to say. I found it hard to believe that the children wouldn't want to come forth as well to try and make some money out of this like their parents did.

I've seen the documentary you are talking about Demon. I can't remember the name of it. It's really well made and proves there's no way the house was haunted. I hate that the new owners changed the windows. The house looks rather plain now.

from what Ronnie said, a lot of the kids who were old enough to understand, had issues with the family. All the kids though, adored Ronnie and he took care of them, but was high off his mind when he killed them.
