Hands down, the goriest movie I have ever seen to this point.
It is completely comedic though, so it isn't at all disturbing.
I loved the lawnmower massacre scene and the intestine monster that was constantly trying to kill Lionel.

Yea, great film. I think Premutos: Lord Of The Living Dead may have been gorier though. Don't know if you have seen it, but its a pretty cool flick.

I have read that Premutos had too much blood.

Ha yea it had a lot of blood man. Zombies getting run over by tanks and crap. It's an ok movie, but Dead Alive is much better.

Im a straight gorehound and I will say that the lawnmower scene is awesome. But the movie is too goofy.More blood than gore. I much prefer Argento's early works for gore and of course anything by Savini.

The gore in Dead Alive really isn't the kind that disgusts you like a true horror movie would. In fact the only seen that made me feel ill at all was the custard scene. Ugh. Otherwise like Chainsaw said it's too goofy. But I think that's really the point. If they were trying to do that amount of gore in a regular horror movie and didn't make it goofy it probably would have been cut to pieces.

Lionel, a Mama's boy has the unwanted honor of having to look after his overbearingly evil mother. He ends up falling in love with a local woman who believes that they're destined together. In a moment of intentional sabotage of one of their dates, his mother is bitten by a mysterious creature that ends up zombifying her. It's only a matter of time before she rises from the dead a powerful, bloodthirsty zombie. It's only a matter of time before she starts infecting residents of the town and Lionel has to stop her...and them.www.imdb.com/title/tt0103873/plotsummary

Yea, it is definitely a goofy movie. I prefer Jackson's Bad Taste though. Classic.

Yea, it is definitely a goofy movie. I prefer Jackson's Bad Taste though. Classic. Wow I was just gonna say that.I finally got the DVD and I hadnt seen this in at least 8 years but me and the wife watched some the other day. It doesnt get enough props as Dead Alive.I dunno why.The gore was more like Dawn of the Dead than Dead Alive and that's a good thing.

All time classic(k) movie. For me, Bad Taste is Jackson's best, because the schlock factor just appeals to me more, but it's tough to choose. Such a great, hilarious movie.

Yea. Good to see a couple more fans of Bad Taste. It definitely doesn't get as much props as it deserves.

This movie is bloody-disgusting. Just the way i like it

I'd say Hatchet is pretty close. And it doesn't do it so over the top it's silly.

Hatchet is gory, but Dead Alive takes gore to a new level.

Hatchet does deliver lots of gore.

You could pack in all of the gore in Hatchet into one scene of DA and still have lots left, but I do agree that it isn't comedic at all.
