But how? Everyone who was in ROTJ is old or dead. I imagine though that Disney will not interfere with the creative process. Much like their relationship with Marvel.

I have soured on Lucas as of late, so his departure is a welcome change. As for the story, there is a ton of EU material to choose from.

They want to do a follow up to ROTJ. I do hope they do the Cade Skywalker saga. Then go back to the Darth Revan days set waaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Darth Vader

I would love to see some of the really early history as well.

Me too. In fact we were supposed to get a third Knights Of the Old Republic game, but Lucas said no, now that he is not in charge anymore we may get one.

Yeah, Disney got LucasArts in the deal as well, so they can make any video games they want.

I hope Episode VII is actually set after ROTJ. The prequels were for the most part terrible. I'd much rather see the story of what came after the good Star Wars films. No matter how old the actors and actresses are or will be I'd them and their characters in a story over the crap Lucas came up with with the prequels. It's just a shame they didn't continue their story sooner.

I'd rather see it not be focused on the Skywalker family. Aside from the Thrawn, Yuzhann Vong, and the films most of the fantastic star wars stories are not Skywalker based.

Boba Fett's return is what I'd want to see most.
I don't know too much about the expanded universe, so I may be missing a lot of great material, but to see the galaxy's best bounty hunter back in action - with some enhanced special effects - would be awesome.
Disney is quite a power house now. I'm curious as to what or who they'll buy up next...
As for the Knights of the Old Republic. Fantastic games, some of the best ever. I'd love a new one.

I've always felt the Star Wars franchise was great how it was and shouldn't be messed around with anymore, unfortunately this was done by Disney to sell more stuff, not an effort to make good movies, can you imagine what they have in mind to build in Disney world that's Star Wars related? look what Universal did with Harry Potter

Disney hasn't screwed up the Marvel comics and the movies they are based on since buying that company. So I feel fairly confident they wont screw this up either. At least I hope not. ;D

Phineas and Ferb, a Disney cartoon, has a special where it will crossover into the Marvel universe. Not sure what to think of that, but it appears to be happening.
Phineas and Ferb is a decent cartoon, or can be. It's definitely one of the better programs out there for kids, I think. Like a lot of shows it has experienced 'wear and tear' for going on so long, but select episodes are pretty damn enjoyable, so I'm curious as to how this will work out.

Phineas and Ferb is really good. Jayson loves it as well.
On a business note, Disney is the biggest media conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue. This purchase just amps up that to a new level.

BUMP:
This wasn't posted, so I thought I would mention it.
Rick McCallum, George's "yes man" in the company, left as well, so the last remnants of the Republic have been swept away so to speak.

He played a huge part in the "special editions" and all of the changes that were made. Being a key person behind the creation of Jar Jar Binks is another strike against him.
