I think they're out of frsh ideas in general. that doesn't mean they don't have any, it just means they seem to recycle.

Yeah, hence the remake craze. It is sad that most movie posters are rushed out with Photoshop now.

Hollywood needs to let more people who think outside the box make movies. Give some of the people making independent films real Hollywood money. If we had some fresh blood with the Hollywood machine behind them I think we'd be much more likely to see something original.

The only recent example of a different concept being given a lot of money is Inception. Of course, after Christopher Nolan gave Warner Bros. the first billion dollar Batman movie, they did have a lot of faith in him. It ended up making more than $800 million worldwide.
Of course, the marketing department was lazy and it ended up being listed in that article for the poster art.

Yeah, they got actual artists involved in the creative process. I love some of the painted posters.
