news.yahoo.com/why-nobody-trusts-steubenville-171732708.htmlI am sure that all of you have heard about the rape case coming out of Steubenville, Ohio and how players on their beloved football team are involved. Everyone from the police to the prosecutors office has been accused of trying to keep this under wraps so that their games go on as planned. When did a sports team become more import than someone's dignity?

This city is apparently known as "Little Chicago" for its rampant corruption.

Given your geographic location, I will take your word for it. Where in PA are you located?

A LOT of things have become more important than people. In this case, it's become a status symbol to be associated with a winning football team, and no one wants that " torn apart".

Nope, and it is sickening. A (female) lawyer suggested that the victim drop the case for the greater good. Now there is a movement to get her disbarred.

Yes, near Pittsburgh, which is also close to the Ohio border. I haven't been to that part of the States yet.

I can give Ohio a pass if they produced Manson. If they produced cry baby Boehner then I revoke that pass. ;D As for this rape being covered up for sports? I think it's a lot more common than we'd like to think it is. Sports are a little too important to some people.

I call him the Annoying Orange for his spray tan.
Hockey is really popular here and there was a coach who molested a bunch of players. Theo Fleury was one of his victims. This didn't get reported until all of the kids were grown up, although there wasn't a cover up, just the kids being shamed into keeping quiet by the coach.

Technically Ohio didn't produce Manson. Manson was born in Ohio, but only because his mother was travelling. He was conceived in Wheeling, WV and grew up in Pike county, KY. I know too much about it since I researched and co-wrote a book on him.

In PA the Penn State football program KNEW Sandusky was molesting children for years, they just didn't do anything about it Your governor is suing the NCAA over the sanctions and fines. I kind of feel sorry for the innocent student athletes who just go to the school and have to be punished over the actions of the administration.

Nope, and it is sickening. A (female) lawyer suggested that the victim drop the case for the greater good. Now there is a movement to get her disbarred. Disbarred, tarred and feathered, and publicly embarrssed. Why should the victim drop the case if they have one?
