I am surprised that everyone is kissing Keaton's behind when Adam West played Batman before that.
Burton and Keaton had their time and that is over, so new people are making the movies.
I guess people are forgetting that Burton finds his first Batman film to be boring and blames studio interference, and when he got his way with Returns, there was tons of backlash over it.
This is Nolan's final film in the franchise, so I guess they can go back to plant fed goons and bat nipples to make the dissenters happy after that.
Rebel, I can tell that you hate TDK already based on what other people are saying, which is lame to say the least.

And before West was Lewis Wilson. Keaton was my favorite is all. Is it really too hard to just enjoy a movie without saying which is better. Sure I prefer 89 but I like TDK. They are two different films. I don't carew hich made more money or whatever. Jesus Christ it's a movie not a character study. TDK to me just didn't feel like a Batman movie. That's just my opinioin ok? I just find it absolutely annoying that every single person in the entire planet kisses Nolan's ass because he made 2 Batman films but neither felt like Batman ( To me). Do we really need to know how Bruce Wayne became Batman? No. That ruins Batman to me, Bale to me is a very good Batman definitely in my top 3 but he had issues that were out of his control. Like the rapsy voice and how basically every piece of his damn dialogue in the film is a speech! Everyone in TDK spoke in speeches. People do not talk like taht! Also the whole realism thing while a good concept doesn't ahve good execution in TDK, like for example The joker. Joker wouldve been caught by the FBI in a heartbeat, why would one city rely on a schizophrenic DA, A comissioner and a guy dressed as a Bat as their saviors? At the end of the day Batman is and always will be a cartoon, a comic character. That is why I liked Burton's film the best because it's dark and serious but also campy and cheesy when it needed to be. TDK is just a moody movie to me. Do not get me wrong I like TDK and it's a very well done movie but i'm tired of everyone saying that this movie was the best comic book movie ever made of all time for all of eternity. There will always be another one that defeats it and so on and so forth. So lighten up, jesus christ. We all have different prefrences and interpretations of Batman.

Oh that Jeremy Nope just seeing what others think. I am amused that you are doing the same thing that you say others are doing and "kissing a directors butt". Just because somebody doesn't just have a religious experience during a Nolan movie does NOT make them automatically want a Joel Shuelmaker movie I did hate Begins yes. The last 30 minutes though was a pretty solid movie out of that. Will watch Dark knight soon WITH AN OPEN MIND. Good grief

Okay, maybe I came off a little harsh.
Just look at the state that the franchise was in when Nolan was brought on board, which is quite similar to the Halloween franchise before RZH.
Batman Begins comes out, which restored credibility and then some, and it led to a billion dollar Batfilm, which essentially went beyond the superhero genre.
I am not expecting the next one to be nearly as big as TDK, or even as good.
None of us forget the curse of three that plagues these franchises, and if that trend is bucked, it will have been successful.

VILLIANS ANNOUNCED! o.o
The villains of Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie will be Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, and... Bane, a 1990s 'roid freak who shattered Bruce Wayne's spine in the Knightfall crossover. Anne Hathaway will play Selina, while Tom Hardy will play Bane.
The press release quotes Nolan as saying about Hathaway, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story." And about Hardy, he says: "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies."
Obviously, it's looking less likely that The Dark Knight Rises will be based on the "Prey" storyline, or will be about Hugo Strange or whatever. It'll be interesting to see whether Nolan can take the 1990s wrestler-masked Bane and turns him into something more akin to Heath Ledger's Joker. The fact that Tom Hardy can act like a mofo will no doubt help, and having a villain who's sort of the Joker's opposite seems like a neat idea: Bane has a clear-cut goal (control of Gotham's crime world) and he mostly uses physical aggression to achieve his ends. I wonder if Bane will figure out Bruce Wayne's secret, like he did in the comics?

Bane has a bad reputation due to how he was portrayed in B&R, but he is actually a very smart character.
Anyone who has doubts about Hardy as Bane needs to look up a movie called Bronson. He really bulked up for the role and could easily do it again. Plus, Nolan likely won't be taking such a fantastical approach to the material.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard have also been added to the cast.

Before everyone dismisses Hardy as Bane, take a look at this video.

I first saw him as a clone of Jean-Luc Picard in Nemesis and was very impressed.
A lot of people from Inception are being cast, but Nolan wouldn't be the first director to use certian actors a lot.

That didn't surprise me. a lot of directors use actors they are often comfortable with. Like example. Tim Burton casted Michael Keaton as Batman because he knew he could do it and he worked well with Keaton on Beetlejuice.

Rob Zombie gets a lot of flack for it. I used to hold it against him, but that was mostly because they were glorified cameos in RZH.
I read that Hardy has three months to put on 30 pounds of muscle.

Zombie is notable for it but that's his style I suppose.
