I avoided the opening weekend crowds and also couldn't handle IMAX due to my vertigo problem, but that seems to have passed. Now I need to find the time to see it.

Bane just wasn't really intimidating to anyone in my theater as opposed to Joker or Two-Face or even The Scarecrow. I mean Tom Hardy is a guy i'd never wanna throw down ( but he is incredibly nice so why would I wanna fight him) but the voice...I don't know, something about it doesn't sound right to me. I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever, but had they fine tuned it a bit more it would have been much better. Though I understood what he said for the most part. I find Bane to be the most intimidating of them all, that is what made him so great for me, I don't understand why everyone is harping on the voice so much, I thought its what made the character as chilling and agressive as he was, especially in the first scene when he's in the plane and he has the mask over his head Oh wow we feel soooo differently. When he delivered his first line I was like WTF is that? Awkward.... Then as they walked over too him I put it together before they pulled his mask off. Like I said his voice grew on me. Then it lost me around the football field and jail break. When his voice didnt stay deep it sucked IMO

I saw it opening day in IMAX so I am a little late to give my thoughts. It was great that they referenced Batman Begins more. But, I feel it was the worst superhero movie this year behind The Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man. The first fight between Bane and Batman was incredible from the lack of music to the desperation in Batman's grunts. Bane was a great villain until the end where the "twist" happen which fans of Batman saw coming. It seemed like it made him more of a muscle guy instead of the intelligent villain that we saw through most of the film.
So I guess I will give it a solid 7/10

It is really nice to see what other members have to say. I enjoy reading what everyone thinks about TDKR. Great insights & thought recognitions seen in the above comments. This is what keeps this place alive, love it. In dept Movie pros here that digs right into the film.

I think my overall rating of the 3 movies of the trilogy would be
Batman Begins 9.0/10
The Dark Knight 9.9/10
The Dark Knight Rises 9.5/10
I really don't feel as strong about any other movie trilogy but I think most of that is the fanboy in me, even Star Wars in which most cases people feel that Return of the Jedi wasn't on the level with the first 2, either way what Christopher Nolan has done will be remembered for sometime to come

I liked it a lot, especially the end. I actually really liked Bane's voice, but keep in mind this is coming from a guy who was never bothered by Batman's voice. There's so much going on in the movie that I feel like I need to see it again before I can rate it. Catwoman was great, the story was pretty good. My only real complaints would be there was a lot more corny dialogue this time and the whole realism thing kind of went out the window with Gotham being taken over for months, and Batman flying a UFO lol. Great movie though, I want to see it again asap.

Its funny you say that CT. I was actually talking to a friend today who saw it and he ask me to explain it to him what he just saw......funny. Its like trying to figure out a puzzle, which is already solved.....instead of it coming to him, he's pushing towards it. There was definitely alot going on, maybe the second time around clear ups his feel towards TDKR.

I finally got around to seeing it and was blown away. It was better than TDK and that movie is incredible. The IMAX presentation is the only way to see it.

Does anybody else think Guy Pearce would make a good Batman?

I had a faster than average internet connection about a week ago so I decided to give this a view. A definite improvement over TDK but I still think BB was the best of the 3.

A lot of people are calling the trilogy one of the best ever made and I agree with them. All three were very well made and told a good story.

Saw the last film in a cheap theater for 2 bucks a piece well after it was out of the others. Despite way too over long film (seriously people do like to move around), I liked it for the most part. Better than the last two in terms of action and keeping me alert. Bane's voice was horrid though my GF and I kept wondering what the hell he was saying half the time.
