^ You bet. Romero was a legacy! I wonder how Mark Hamill, Jack Nicholson, or even Heath Ledger would have been able to pull it off if it had not been for Romero. He left an impact on the role, like Ledger did with The Dark Knight.
So Cesar Romero gets my vote!

Heath Ledger.
His Joker was faithful to the comic book roots.

not exactly jer,Joker never used a knife, joker's skin was bleached white,Joker's weapons consiste dof seemingly harmless things that were actually deadly such as joy buzzers squirting flowers at any rate jack nicholson was closer than any of them

I think if you mixed a bit of Romero with a bit of Nicholson you'd be a lot closer to the comic book version than Ledger's emo joker ever got.

Some people seem to get so mad when they hear about the massive success that TDK had, be it awards and nominations, fantastic box office and near universal critical and viewer acclaim.

Mad? Nope. I'm proud not to be a sheep. I can see through the hype. See I have actually read a fair amount of the comic appearances of the Joker. Ledger wasn't that Joker. Not even in the same neighborhood. It was a well written role. Just not the Joker.

to be honest this wasn't batmans most hyped movie. batman 89 was becuase basically throughout mostly all of the 80s people were psyched to see batmana nd the offical announcement was the famous bat logo at times square at NY

Mad? Nope. I'm proud not to be a sheep. I can see through the hype. At the same time, and this applies to many cases, going against the grain becomes trendy at some point. I didn't really get hyped up a lot before its release, but I did follow the news and decided to see it. I loved Batman Begins, and the players from that film returning sounded good to me. It was when I saw it on the IMAX screen that I really was amazed by it. No, it isn't the be all and end all of film and I fully admit that, but just look at how people are looking at it for reference when doing future comic book films. Now, this talk of making the next Superman film dark isn't needed, but it seems that a bar has been set. What else could they have done to follow up Batman & Robin anyways? EDIT: While it broke box office records, they are based on today's inflated ticket prices, so it isn't the most successful film of all time...Gone With The Wind is.

I'm going to say, Cesar Romero's Joker! Cause if we didn't have him we wouldn't have Jask's Joker!
Romero's Joker is so evil he dosen't have to shave for his make up! Now thats scary! ;D

That is scary XD.
I like the Jack Joker. He was just funny in my opinion! I never got to see the batman series so I don't know that joker.... Keath did a good job.... But I still like Nickleson!

not exactly jer,Joker never used a knife, joker's skin was bleached white,Joker's weapons consiste dof seemingly harmless things that were actually deadly such as joy buzzers squirting flowers at any rate jack nicholson was closer than any of them The Joker had multiple origins like in TDK. The Joker did have scars in multiple issues. The Joker is pure evil in the comics. There is things I am missing but Ledgers Joker is closer to today's comics. to be honest this wasn't batmans most hyped movie. batman 89 was becuase basically throughout mostly all of the 80s people were psyched to see batmana nd the offical announcement was the famous bat logo at times square at NY The Dark Knight had the bat symbol on 2 buildings, 1 in NYC and 1 in Chicago. Not to mention viral marketing and the whole Joker taking over NYC and Chicago gig. Also it did make the most money and sell more tickets than 89, which means it had that the hype gave it.

true but he is not crazy by any means. He fakes it as a means to get away from the death penalty and also i do agree that he has multiple origins but his skin is bleached it is never said how it truly happened and wasn't he at one point afraid to touch things with his barehands and thus the reason why he had gloves?

I liked how he changed his story so much.
The viral marking for TDK was incredible, and the overall marketing campaign was huge.
TDK and Cloverfield made great use of the more subversive promotion.
