I know it'll never happen, but a direct sequel to Jason Takes Manhattan would be amazing.

I have no doubt that Paramount has the ability to pump out a few movies in five years. Now, should they? That remains to be seen.

I think they should, Jason needs a proper comeback. And with a lot of 70's and 80's franchises given new life ( Die Hard, Rocky, Rambo, Terminator etc) Jason should also come back.

They just need to keep things simple and don't need to spend much money.

Exactly, they need to go back to the tried and true formula. We don't need anything new, just Jason hacking up horny teenagers at Camp Crystal Lake.

Paramount had the best films. New Line killed it. And Warner, well I hate Warner. I just hope something proper is given like others said a proper film after Manhattan OR something involving Tommy Jarvis.

Kinda ambivalent about this news. It's cool there will be a boxset for the people who want and maybe a new film will be made within 5 years, but it's hard to be hopeful about it, considering Paramount's history with the franchise. They started losing it heading towards the end of the 80's and it's been a long time since then. All that being said, I'll be there opening night

I have been waiting to complete the collection of Freddy/Jason films on Blu Ray and now that is possible so I am very glad about that. Amazon is selling it for 90 which is not a bad deal since it also includes digital copies of all of them. If only the Nightmare set had that as well.
