I think it's about time for the year end poll. At this moment I am undecided since I did not see them all but for this of you who did or already know it can't get any better than their favorite, now is the time to have your opinion heard.

I say 30 Days Of Night was the best horror movie of the year. Also it is the best vampire movie I saw besides The Lost Boys

Hatchet, with Behind The Mask a close second.

The Mist gets my vote. I haven't seen Hatchet yet though so that may change.

It's a toss up between The Mist and Saw 4 as far as my second favorite.

I didn't think any of those movies were worthy of a best of 2007, especially not Hatchet. My vote is for what I call the best indie horror movie in 5 years- Deadwood Park by Eric Stanze.

I can't believe someone with your taste didn't love Hatchet. Oh well we can't all have good taste. LMAO jk. Seriously though it does really surprise me you didn't like it more.

I've narrowed down to the Top 3 films (1 being the best)
3. 30 Days of Night (A very nice update to the vampire film fracnhize)
2. Rob Zombie's Halloween (A very colorful and jumping remake of John Carpenter's thriller)
1. Saw IV
Saw 4, without a doubt, was the best and scariest Saw film yet.

Hatchet now gets my vote as the best of '07.

I thought Hatchet was generic... and non-atmospheric. The blood and gore looked cheap... and Crowley looked really bad... really stupid.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the film. I think they really showed how much they tried to give it the classic slasher feel. Especially with how limited they were with the budget. Oh well we can't all like the same things. Maybe if the do a sequel it will have more money to work with and they can make one that you do like.

There is definately going to be a Hatchet 2. I am not sure how I feel about it but as long as it's like the original, count me in.

I thought the blood and gore in Hatchet was amazing...much better than the CGI crap that's in most movies these days. Of course, I've always been a big John Carl Buechler fan.

I thought the blood and gore in Hatchet was amazing...much better than the CGI crap that's in most movies these days. Of course, I've always been a big John Carl Buechler fan. I too loved it. We need more practical effects in horror. All the CGI crap looks so bad. I really enjoyed the Hills Have Eys remake. And think if they had used practical special effects it would have been even better. I think Buechler is pretty awesome too. I really enjoyed his cameo in the film as well.

Buechler has on several occasions taken time out of his busy schedule to respond to emails I've sent him. It's obvious the guy really appreciates his fans and that makes him pretty cool in my book.

I hope he comes back for the sequel. Both for his special effects work and to play that crazy pee drinking guy again. LOL
