Agreed. This is without a doubt one of the greats...from the 80's or any other time.

Another great film, truly worthy of 5

I'll give Halloween II a 3/5. It was nowhere near as good as the first one, but it was one of the better sequels.

I saw the H2/H3 double feature at Best Buy for only $12.99, but I resisted double dipping.

Was it one of those deals where it has both on one DVD? Those aren't worth it. They cut out all the extras.

They basically took the single disc editions of each and put one on each side.

Yeah. Not worth it then. Good decision to pass it up.

There were a bunch of double features that I saw for really low prices.

Some are worth it. But not quality films. Usually ones that don't have extras on other versions or really don't need extras.

The one I want to get is the Psycho 2/3/4 pack, as there is one of them (I forgot which) that is on DVD for the first time.

Probably 4. It was a T.V. movie originally.

A two disc special edition would be nice, but I am not counting on it.

Of Part 4? I wouldn't bet that happens. The lead actor is dead. And I doubt the guy who played him as a teen wants to be associated with it enough to do commentary. Plus the fact it was a t.v. movie. Yeah I just don't ever see that happening.

No, of Halloween 2.

Oh LOL we switched topics twice now. LOL Actually I could see Halloween 2 getting that kind of treatment. With the interest in Halloween being renewed due to the new movie there will probably be a bunch of new stuff for the older movies put out.

I certainly hope so.
To me anyways, it says a lot when you have the chance to capitalize on an upcoming movie and all you can do is lump together two existing movies on one disc.
I also heard that when Universal tried to get a commentary track out of Rosenthal, he wasn't very positive about the movie due to the fact that Carpenter reshot and re-edited it, so the idea was shelved.

Then that's a perfect reason for him to be involved. To give his views.

The one thing I would love to see is the Rosenthal "Quincy cut" as John Carpenter put it before taking the helm.

The Halloween II/Halloween III double feature actually is worth it for those who do not own those movies already. It is two movies for the price of one. You can't beat that. You wouldn't be loosing any extras, because the individual edition dvds never had any extras. I still have my Gootimes editions and will not update until A) I am given a proper reason to or B) one of my discs breaks for some reason. I still enjoy my Goodtimes editions.

Here is what would be in my dream DVD:
-Theatrical cut -TV cut -"Quincy cut" -Rosenthal's commentary that Universal didn't like
