After the atrocity Rosenthal gave us in Resurrection, I really don't care to hear what he has to say. Halloween 2 would've probably sucked if Carpenter hadn't got involved.

Yeah, it is a good thing that Carpenter stepped in.

Absolutely. He gave it the classic feel it needed.

I don't think it is fair to blame Rosenthal for what Resurrection became. He didn't write the story and he didn't seem to have that much creative input on it either. It seems to me that he was basically handed pages from the company and was told to put them on the screen. He did that very well. It wasn't his fault that what was on the pages was not always quality. I gather this thought from what was said on the H25 dvd.

He agreed to do the movie, he didn't have to. He could read the script and see what a POS Resurrection was going to be.

So true. It makes me wonder if he was having financial difficulties at the time. Why else would he agree to be attached to it?

Besides, I'll go to the grave saying that besides Busts Rhymes' karate shit, this movie is not as bad as people make it out to be. Hell, it was better then 5 and 7. So true. It makes me wonder if he was having financial difficulties at the time. Why else would he agree to be attached to it? Excactly. The guy is human, and I'm sure he has bills to pay like the rest of us. I can not blame a guy for making the right business decision for himself, because principals do not pay the rent.

wow never reviewed this one
this is my favorite Halloween out the series and maybe my favorite horror of all time. This movie just scares the crap out of me. It had everything the 1st one did and even more, So many tense sceens, I remember the 1st time I watched it I was with my dad and me and him where going nuts over everything.
I just love this movie, everything about it, to me its Horror perfection along side the 1st one, there the only ones I both give a 5

Cool thanks for pasting that here, I appreciate it. My let down was the lack of extras in the hospital. It's as if there were no other patients besides Laurie and the kid with the razor blade in his mouth...
But I guess the dark hallways and lack of patients made the atmosphere all the more scary when you think a freak like Meyers is walking those halls. Empty hospitals IMO are very terrifying. Halloween 2 definitely delivered that.

I, too, would like to see the infamous "Quincy cut" of Halloween 2.
That said, this movie does retain the distinctive Carpenter pacing and feel, especially in the opening setup, and for that I'm thankful. (I'm not sure anyone does it better, and the first film was/is classic.) Later films really didn't have the same vibe.
A few personal highlights: * Great opening. The bit where the radio mentions Laurie has been taken the hospital and then you see Michael check what street he's on and head toward the hospital...priceless. * Very moody, effective atmosphere. Hospitals, particularly at night, are creepy. Stephen King thinks so, too. Kudos for the setting. * A great "pissed" Michael when he breaks through the glass toward the end. * Nice ending. Could've been the end if they'd have stuck to their guns. (Carpenter did, of course.)
Overall, a pretty decent followup. Nice to see Carpenter still had some good stuff in the tank...even if he did have to take over and try to save the day at the 11th hour.

Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream. Make him the cutest that I've ever seen. Give him two lips like roses and clover Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over
That music went well with it ;D I thought Halloween II was the best sequel. 4/5

Everytime I hear that song, regardless if it's on another movie, on the radio, etc...it makes me think of Halloween.

I like Halloween 2.
It was on Chiller recently.
The "Sandman" song gives some people I know the creeps because they associate it with this scary movie.

Mr. Sandman was on the radio in my mom's car about a week ago and Halloween II popped right into my head. The thing about Halloween II is it can go either way. It depends on my mood. It is not a movie I can just watch any time. I have got to be in the mood for it.
