Tom Atkins is the man.
I feel like watching Night Of The Creeps now.
Oh, it was a flop at the time.

I don't know why people hate this one so much, ok Myers wasn't in it, which is a shame, but I personally still enjoyed it

Yeah, it's great by itself. It's not the best movie in the world but it's watchable. I personally think the plot is a little ridiculous, but it's entertaining!

If they watch it and dislike it for other reasons, I can live with that, as they gave it a chance. Most people here like it, but a quick look around the internet shows people who judge it based on nothing but the lack of a character.

Thank you, at least I'm not the only one who thinks that (I was starting to believe I was)

You should read all of the posts in this thread Pinhead. You'll see that most members here love H3.

I remember seeing that when I was watching it too. I think you're right they probably did use an extra shot from the TV version.

I'm so glad Atkins is still getting work in horror films! My Bloody Valentine! Good work Dan Chalis!

The scene in the bar was an effective way of showing that Michael didn't exist in this movie aside from being a movie character.
I know this sounds obvious, but the main reason H3 flopped back in 1982 was because advertising and the availability of information wasn't the way it is now, given that we can go online and find anything we need to know about a movie fast.
All some people had seen was the trailer, and given that it was a Halloween movie, they expected Michael.
Series like this become iconocentric, so that kind of reaction isn't unusal, even to this day.

Considering it doesn't show Michael or any previous characters in the trailer I wouldn't expect it to be about him. Casual movie goers might have. But I think a hard core horror fan might have been able to figure it out.

The thing is (and you probably know this) that hardcore horror fans are a tiny percentage of the overall viewing audience, and not the people that movies are marketed to.

Halloween 3 is a good film. Despite what some Halloween fans think. I'm a big Halloween guy and i think H3 is a good film. Sure it isn't as good as the other ones, but every series has that one film that debates with most of its fans. Halloween 3 couldve been much worse if you honestly think about it.
My view on Halloween 3 is that even without Michael the producers were trying to show that they could still make a good movie, and when people responded negatively towards the story, it backlashed. The producers then felt that they HAD to put Michael back into the picture, and they didnt have to. It's not like they made Halloween 3 to piss people off. They wanted to open the door because they felt Michaels story was over.
I overall like Halloween 3, i watch it every halloween. I'd give it a 3, maybe a 3 and a half

The thing is (and you probably know this) that hardcore horror fans are a tiny percentage of the overall viewing audience, and not the people that movies are marketed to. I just don't see why an average movie goer would care then. If they aren't big horror fans they shouldn't care Michael wasn't in it. If it was a bad movie then I could see the complaint. But it's a good movie with a cool story. So regular Joe movie goer should have enjoyed it. IMO anyway.

The way things are these days, Michael IS Halloween.
It is narrow minded, but that is how things are.

That is true. Like freddy is NIGHTMARE on elm street and jason IS Friday the 13th, people dont even recognize that mrs voorhees was in the original. Pinhead IS hellraiser. People need to just take a fuckin breather every now and then ya know? ;D

I LOVE Halloween 3! I have loved it every single viewing. I never needed to "get over" the fact Mike's not in it. By the time I saw it I KNEW it wasn't in it. It's an incredible movie with a great atmosphere!
