I think Halloween 6 may be my favorite. I guess I am just able to watch it many times. American Movie Classics (AMC) shows it now. I have not seen the Producer's Cut. Does anyone have it?

I have always found the thorn story interesting because it actually links Myers to true recorded Halloween history making him a part of the true meaning of the day.

Tying Michael to the ancient traditions of Halloween and Samhain was an excellent touch That's the only Part I like, especially since they give a hint of that in Halloween 2. But much like JtgH we learned that over explaining a character like Michael or Jason is just a bad idea. Agreed

Thanks to Darth Jeremy, I watched HALLOWEEN 6 P-Cut last night.
I like it better than the theatrical release. I think the different music provides more mystery, suspense, and drama. Also, I like the longer scenes that have dialogue with explanations of things I heard in the theatrical film, even though the evil probably should not be explained at all. I would have preferred Michael had a mental illness instead of the whole Thorn thing. We know he is mentally ill, and maybe it should have been named at the beginning of the series.
I know the P-cut has been copied a few times, but the quality is good enough. The dark scenes make the story more intriguing.
It really is like watching a different movie (from the theatrical version). Jamie's death is less brutal (no farm equipment used) and Mr. Strode's head does not explode. Those deaths, in the theatrical cut, are over the top.
I am sure some of you have probably already watched the P-Cut, and know these things. I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I have always found the thorn story interesting because it actually links Myers to true recorded Halloween history making him a part of the true meaning of the day. Rich, How true - You make a valid point. I am pretty sure that is probably why Daniel Farrands wrote it.

I give it a 2/5.
I remember seeing the trailer for it back in the day on The Crow VHS. Needless to say, my friends and I were pumped for it. When we were able to rent it, man, what a disappointment.
I hate what they did to the character of Jaime, Michael is an overweight turd, and they come up with the worst explanation possible for why Michael is the way he is.
I have both the theatrical and producer's cut, and I'm not really sure which is the better film. The producer's cut seems to be more popular and I agree that it is more cohesive and makes more sense, but Michael comes off even more like a controlled tool in it. "Oh shit, some stones. I'm completely immobilized now!". Lame. As least he rebelled and wasted all the members of the cult in the theatrical version.
I can see why some like it, because I agree that it has a pretty dark and eerie kind of feel to it. I've always been a big fan of Mrs. Strode's death...that shit is awesome.

As an update the the P-cut situation, Disney (who owns Mirimax and therefore H6) officially passed on doing a release.
Dan Farrands said the last glimpse of hope is getting it outsourced to a smaller distributor, and Anchor Bay is interested, but it is still a slim chance.
