NEW TOPIC Would H2O have been as good without the sister element? If Laurie remained what she was in part 1 (just a girl, not a sister) would H2O still have the greatness as long as she came back?
I say yes, it would have been even better! We wouldnt have had to endure 4 movies of him tring to kill off family members either! It woulda been straight up stalking and unexplained and unpredictable.

I agree! The whole "Stalking the random victim" was really Michaels MO. This is what makes him The Shape. And, if he killed his sister and his whole family, would this mean he's done killing. Atleast with this we know that he would kill everyone in his sight.

No sister or Thorn shit-just plain ol random stalking and all out rage, with class.
Throw in some champagne and caramel popcorn for the viewers too.

I agree it would have worked. It would have been cool to see Michael show up to stalk her and everyone around her just to finish business and not have anything to do with Family.

Guess I'm in the minority, but I always liked the Michael+Laurie=siblings plotline.

i think it wouldve been better without the sister aspect just the sheer evilness of Michael Myers going out tto kill someone he rie dkilling 20 years prior wouldve been more scarier it wouldve seem that his life goal was to kill laurie for no real reason at all

Guess I'm in the minority, but I always liked the Michael+Laurie=siblings plotline. It doesn't bother me either. You know me, I like the Thorn idea. So I too agree with you two.

It's amazing as good as the first film was how unbelievably crappy the series got fairly quickly. Such a shame.

Yea Kyle it is amazing. The movie most responsible for people making horror movies a major part of there lives spawned the worst sequels out of any franchise.

I like 1,2,3,4 and H20. But the only one I think is truly great is the original.

My favorites will always be 1 and 2. They were the best and always will be in my eyes.

Part 1 can be the only one that exists and I'd be happy as far as this franchise goes.. However I like 2,3,4,6 and 7.

I like 'em all. Excluding Resurrection of course. ;D

Resurrection would make more sense (and be more accepted) if Michael was not just stalking relatives in the previous movies.
I was totally prepared to enjoy H20. I liked it, but felt it should have been much better. An anniversary film without Dr. Loomis seemed empty.

While I agree it would have been nice to have Loomis I'm almost glad they didn't. IMHO he'd been the only decent thing about the last several Halloween films. I think they needed to prove they could make a good one without him. Plus with it Retconning the last several out and the actor dying it didn't hurt the movie that much to me. I think they did a good enough job explaining his absence.

While I agree it would have been nice to have Loomis I'm almost glad they didn't. They couldn't. Donald Pleasence was dead.

I mentioned that later in my message. LOL If they had Loomis in it they'd have to get someone else to play him.

Actually he was one of the few things I didn't mind in the remake. But that was probably due to who they got for the part. Malcolm McDowell is pretty freaking awesome in my eyes.

McDowell did do a great job. I can't see anyone else playing the role better than he did.
