Laurie didn't leave Jamie because she was scared of Michael...she put Jamie in orphanage because she thought Michael wouldn't be able to find her with her and her new family. However, a family from Haddonfield wound up adopting her...after Michael got out of the hospital and escaped from the ambulance he found out where she was living, went after her.
If that's not enough then I don't know what is... information from me of watching Halloween for many years, meeting both Akkad's, John Carpenter and etc...

actually she relly didnt put jamie in an orphange heres everything that happend since jamie was born to michael escaped out of the official timeline
April 1980--Jamie Lloyd is born.
July 1980--Laurie and Jimmy fight more and more. However, Laurie finds out that she is pregnant once again.
September 1980--Laurie flips out due to her problems with Jimmy, her motherhood and her pregnancy, and decides she needs to start anew. She turns to Dr. Sam Loomis for help, and together begin a witness protection plan for Laurie.
November 16, 1980--Laurie fakes her death...which appeared to be a car accident. Very few people knew of the plan, and Jimmy was not one of the select few. One of Laurie's last wishes to Dr. Loomis was to watch over her daughter, Jamie.
November 24, 1980--Laurie, now Keri Tate moves to Summer Glen, California, where she continues college.
August 12, 1981--John Tate is born. Laurie decides never to tell John about his sister, out of pain.
May 4, 1984--Laurie graduates from college and is offered a teaching position at a private school.
September 2, 1984--Jimmy marries. Jimmy and his wife both decide that, out of respect, Jamie would not be allowed to forget her mother, and pictures are given to her (from when Laurie was a teenager herself).
November 25, 1987--Jimmy and his wife die in some type of accident. Jamie, who was being babysat by the Corruthers' (who were good friends of both Laurie and Jimmy), eventually adopt her.

I see where you're coming from here, but like I said, she did what was best for Jamie. She thought Michael wouldn't find where she was staying, Michael had no intensions of going after Jimmy, but when they died I guess he found out where they lived.

I don't see why Laurie left her . Bad decision IMO.

She didn't abandon her. In that continuity Laurie really died. When H20 basically retconned 4-6 out of the series Laurie's "death" was retconned to be used as an excuse why she was living under another name. But Jamie had never been born and Michael had not been seen since the end of Part 2.

It has nothing to do with H2O, Jamie thought she died in a car crash or something... then Laurie in H2O says she faked her death... (so I guess they did in fact regaurd Part 4) so she did in fact leave Jaime...

So we are to truly believe that she was dead in part 4-6 and in H2O they lightly held onto the storyline and said she faked her death. Just in case fans flipped out about the complete disregard of 4-6? The name Jamie (Lloyd) was also written into the script but it was later decided that they should remove it.
Remember though in the alternate reality of Halloween she in fact did abandon her daughter.

A decision was made early in development to drop the three movies, and rightly so.
Remember that H6 almost sent the franchise straight to video, so it made sense to dump the garbage so to speak.
Jamie almost wasn't in H6 at all, as the studio wasn't a fan of her, but Farrands begged them to use her in the movie.
Of course, it didn't really matter, as she was killed off early in the T-cut.
I understand that people like those movies and are mad about them being officially ignored, but they are still there for you to watch on DVD, regardless of their canonical status.
Oh, and Jimmy never got an official last name and isn't anyone's father.

That would be every movie except H3. Starting from Halloween II, they added the sister angle , retconned the balcony and stripped away all of the mystery. On topic, H11's "official" time line is actually a fan invention and is not supported by the powers that be.
