Ya know how Halloween is great and all? Well of course the Michael Myers chase at the end is f'in perfect... but what is your favorite quite subtle part?
I think the greatest scene of Halloween is when Laurie makes sure the kids are sleeping and takes that walk across the street to the Wallace house. The music and the shot of that house and Laurie are what is called absolute perfection on film. All the CGI in the world could never capture something so perfect.

That was a classic scene Demon. I enjoyed the scene where the kids are trick or treating. You know that Halloween has begun and it won't be long until the mayhem starts!

Probably the scene where Laurie is kneeling down to talk to the kids, Tommy points behind her and there's Michael Myers.
Great scene, love it.

best scene is when Micheal is in the closet behind Larie and his mask appears in the background and he comes out after her, everytime I watch that I always make out the mask, and if anyone didn't already know I'll give a little Halloween history lesson, when they did that scene they couldn't get enough light on Micheal's mask on flim so they had a guy on the top shelf on the closet shine a flashlight on his mask so you could see it

I'd have to say my favorite scene is when Dr. Loomis is explaining things to the Sheriff. A close runner up would be Dr. Loomis scaring the kids away from the Myer's house though.... It is really hard to choose a favorite scene when they all were superb!!

Great scene. Looks even better on Blu-Ray.

As mentioned, pretty much the whole damn movie. This movie has at least ten of the greatest horror moments all by itself.
My favorite is after Laurie stabs Michael with the clothes hanger and she is crouching near the doorway after telling the kids to go to the McKenzie's. You're looking at her trying to gather herself and you see over her shoulder Michael sitting up and turning his head...and then he gets up the same time she is rising up...brilliant.

Took the words right out of my mouth jlaw. I was scrolling down and couldn't believe nobody mentioned that until I came to your post. Has always been the scariest thing to me, and brilliant is the perfect word for it. The sit up and turning of the head are the best. No music until he starts walking either, perfect.
I also feel that way about F132, that scene when Ginny is in Jason's shack and it's all quiet and you see him running towards the house from the inside through the window and she doesn't know he's coming. Incredible stuff.

Oh man, that's another one of my favorite scenes ever. Creeps the hell out of me and because you're focusing on Ginny, it is jarring to see Jason out there running.
More favorites from Halloween would include Laurie seeing Michael between the laundry on the line, and then he's gone a split second later.
When Loomis sees the car Michael took just sitting on the side of the road....that's another that creeps me out.

Not to get off topic, but this post reminded me of watching The Excorcist III in the theatre when I was a kid. Someone walks by a statue of a guy with a spear at the end of a hall, they cut to the far end of the hall and you see the statue chasing, about to strike with the spear. That was my biggest ever "jump" experience at the movies.

For me the most subtle scene is when Loomis is in Judith's room and is explaining how Mickael could have seen her from outside.
