Gave it a four. It was the last scary one before they started getting cheezy. Or not- Dream Warriors was ok I guess...

I'm a little surprised that so many people on this Forum enjoyed this movie. I didn't as much as the first, or the ones to follow.
The second installment to the Nightmare on Elm Street series seems to be a "testing phase" for Freddy Krueger, especially with the whole ripping out of the kid and just randomly being able to appear in the real world.
Freddy may be malicious, but he wouldn't just raid a pool party like that, and his being incredibly short when he stalked those kids into corners just took away the creepiness that he had. I don't care who you are, no 5-foot midget is going to back me into a corner.
While I am a huge Freddy Krueger fan, this movie just didn't cut it for me, and I think Hollywood knew that they didn't have to try real hard for this one. The first one sold like hotcakes, so they could have made it Freddy in Cats the Musical, and people would have seen it due to it being a sequel to the beloved original.
The primary issue I have with this film is that Krueger picked the wimpiest kid to "take over". Now, Krueger may be cold-hearted, and he may have killed children, but any self-respecting psychopath wouldn't pick a kid like Jesse. He would have tried for someone else, maybe one of the Dream Warriors (before Nancy met them, and before the events of the third film).
2/5

Freddy may be malicious, but he wouldn't just raid a pool party like that What do you mean he wouldn't? This is only Part 2... I would think the first 3 out of 7 movies establish a villians character. If this was Part 4-7 I would say yea maybe he wouldn't but he is for the first time doing something other than his introduction film. These are things he would and did do. Later on one could establish a feel for a character and decide whether or not he "would" do something.

Freddys Revenge got me into Horror Movies... Almost the same with me, Halloween actually REALLY got me into them. However Freddy 2 was the one that made me interested in Horror movies at an intro level. Halloween just made it a big part of my life.

Well yea it's easy to say it's stupid, but at Part 2 it's hard to say Freddy wouldn't do it.

2/5 Eh...it was...unique to say the least, I also liked how Freddy was still dark and scary in it, but I didn't really dig the plot or characters in it.

I give it three stars. I like the evil Freddy that was in here. Freddy came off as disgusting in this one, and I liked it. Sadly, he declined after this.

True this film was not as good as the first but it was still awesome. I did not like Freddy being in the real world. 5/5 still...

This movie just had that fun 80's horror movie feel to it. The 80's were without a doubt my favorite period for horror. Plus, this was the last Nightmare movie that Freddy was truly scary in, before he became a prankster. 4/5
