I was looking back at my own comment made last year in this thread and it holds true. The film truly does get better with every viewing to me. My list has been like this for so long now:
1. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2. New Nightmare
3. Freddy's Revenge
I think it is about time that I put Freddy's Revenge in its proper place behind the original. It is too weird and dark to keep at third or below any longer.

I never rated this?!!? Well, he was a pretty decent sequel, differing from everyone else who loved it. It was average, not bad, but nothing very special 'bout it. The idea of Freddy takng over his body was sweet, though no Nancy was a downfall. 3.5/5 (I rated it 3)

3.5 is actually a 4 rating lol When rounding in math .5 and higher is the next number lol
Anyway Yes jlaw! I agree! Part 2 is probably the best in the franchise. Part 1 is classic for a first. Yet deep down Part 2 is the one I always put in when I wanna watch a NOES. Part 3 is very commercially liked. That's about it...
BTW Darkness we first saw these movies years after they were made. Was was is... I wouldn't judge it by who was in it. It's not like it was released when you were watching them in theaters and you expected Nancy. She was in Part 3 and 7. That should suffice. I love Jessie and his friends, I didn't miss Nancy.

Every time I see this, it kind of grows on me. It still is the 3rd worst nightmare (IMO), but that doesn't really matter. Part 4 is the most underrated one IMO though.

I think what I love most about this is Freddy. he is built up so well here and he's so much scarier here than in any of the others that it shows him a different light. Freddy is only on screen for a total of 15-20 minutes which is perfect. The fact that we don't see much of him is scary to me. We fear what we dont see or understand. And we don't see him much. Theres a syaing I have that goes like this " If you don't show the monster that much in the movie we fear the monster, if you show us the monster clear as day we mock the monster" After this film we see Freddy alot more in the others which made him become a joke. and I do agree Nightmare 4 is underrated and so is this.

Most seem to like 4 a lot over this one. This is the MOST underrated of all the Nightmare movies. Just as Friday the 13th V is the most underrated out of that one just as Halloween III is the most underrated out of that. And peoples only reason for hating this one is "gay". That's literally it.
Great movie! ;D

I still don't really see a whole lot of gay undertones in this film. I mean jesse wasn't gay he had a girlfreind who he cared alot about. gay or not I still love this one

From what I read it was done "on purpose" but it was done in a scary manner. Freddy had the BEST makeup and lighting in this one. Freaky as hell

It does have a heavy gay overtone. The main actor was openly gay, the set design had things like "No Girls Allowed", and there was a line that said "Something is trying to get inside of my body" and the response "And you want to sleep with me".
LOL, the writer also said that there was the gay tone as well. They still shouldn't have had Freddy in the real world so he can be seen by everyone. Freddy had the best lighting in this and part one due to the same DP working on it. However, Freddy's makeup was not the best in this one. Part one was still better.
I still enjoy this film, I mean so what if it has gay overtones.

Yeah and don't forget the whole S&M vibe we get from the gym teacher. This one always falls around the middle of the pack for me when I have to rate them. Not the best but not the worst either.

It's still my second favorite Nightmare movie, I could care less how 'gay' it is. I loved the story, the acting, Freddy was scary as hell, and any movie Clu Gulager is in has to be awesome. Speaking of Mr. Gulager, he was absolutely hilarious in Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy.

Here is a tribute video I made for this movie. The video makes believe Jesse's friend is jealous of his girlfriend because he wants a girl like Jesses girl. ;D
Enjoy! LINK
