4 out of 5. I liked it alot, but it's not the best in the series. It IS a good starter though!

Freddy Kruger was probably the best idea for a slasher ever. Because it really hits home with everyone. We have all had nightmares and are afraid someone's coming to get us in some of them.
To actually make one guy do the job and put a face to fear in our dreams is brilliant! The best idea yet!
Michael Myers was the worst idea ever. He killed his sister out of nowhere at age 6, then comes back to his old home the focus's on 3 random girls and goes to kill them yet again for zero reson at all. Of course when JC had to write part 2 he threw in the story about making Laurie his sister, because even he knew there was absolutely NO story there. Jason's mom kills the counselours because she flipped out about them neglecting Jason and letting him die. That's totally understandable. Then Jason avaneges his mothers death by doing the same thing as his mother did for him. Killing all who tred in Crystal Lake territory.
But Freddy was the most well thought out, and his look is perfect.

I agree. The whole idea is brilliant.

The original was the best of the series, imo.

Well i loved it. freddy frugger was so scary then.. i remember watching this movie with my daughter and she couldnt even be in the room alone watching this movie and it still haunts her till this day. freddy really had an impact on her. but she watched the freddy vs jason movie... and loved it.. but she hates watching freddy alone or even seeing his face on a poster... go figure...freddy rules..

I agree he was pretty scary when I first watched. I watched it recently with my daughter and she was a little scared, but she did pretty good. She covered her eyes a few times. Now she keeps singing 1, 2, freddy's coming for you. lol it's pretty funny.
